Had to cancel reservations 2 days in advance so he the owner glenn claims they require a 30 day notice or they charge$25 fee...Any place I have stayed over the past 30 years only required 24 hour notice with no charges and he was rude as can be over phone

Let me start off by saying this place and its owners are DOING TRAVEL RIGHT!! We had a fantastic stay here and we will definitely be back as soon as we can book for next summer. My daughter begged to stay longer, but the motel is not surprisingly booked up - it books up very quickly in the summers and I can easily see why! The rooms are IMPECCABLY CLEAN, which says a LOT because the motel is literally on the beach. Not one speck of sand in my room! The rooms are updated, freshly painted and renovated; they feel cozy with little extras like cozy blankets to make your stay even more welcoming. All the rooms have chairs to sit outside and enjoy the beach, and there are also a ton of chairs available on the property. They have their own private beach, which is fantastic; they have fire pits you can use to have bonfires on the beach (!!); they have BBQs and picnic tables for those of us who want to stay close to the beach during their entire stay and save money. The pool was heated and clean. It also had tons of tables and chairs. They could easily charge extra for these things (like a "resort fee," which other hotels charge) but they don't. All of the extras are also in excellent condition. Nothing is run down - everything feels and looks new. This is seriously a hidden gem in Michigan and in the US, especially in this day and age of COVID-19 travel. I used to travel a ton for work, and usually stuck to chains like Marriott because it was just easier and they were reliable. Having traveled a few times this past year, I do not plan on doing chains regularly again. This family run motel is exactly the type experience I want to have - the staff were so warm and welcoming. We will be back if we can get a reservation!

My husband Sean and I decided to take a ride on our Anniversary. We pulled into The Beachcombers and was greeted by Glen most amazing. This was July 16, he had a 2 bedroom suite. We said we would take, he hands us the keys and it is Room 16. We loved it so much, we came back in August. So clean and friendly that I don't want to stay anywhere else. 👍👍👍👍👍

This week has been amazing!!! The renovations are great and the staff is wonderful!!!! I love Pat!! She's so sweet!! If you want to just listen to the sound of the waves sitting in the courtyard like I am now or go to the private beach and have a bonfire you have found the right place! And another thing I liked, it smelled like bleach when we got to the room and was spotless! Thank you Beachcombers for a awesome week for our family of 6 ☺☺☺

I'm not sure, but I did see several people staying for extended visits. I think they were working in the area. If you call and leave a message they will call you back.
