Scenic, quiet and peaceful. Lake is gorgeous and very picturesque. Very nice as a background for natural photography.

Good place to throw a party. They have a banquet hall and deck place available for reservations. A beautiful place to spend family time even though you don't have reservations there are many spots which you can use.

Serene place with a lot of greenery! If the lake levels are good, you can boat else kayak is always an option!

Downtown Raleigh is only 10-15 north. There's plenty there. All the immediate surrounding are residential.
Monday is closed & some holidays it's closed. Think it's open from sunrise to sunset so it closes different times all year
Only if you want to reserve a picnic table other than that you good
According to park rules, you are not supposed to. That doesn't stop people. Rarely do I go out there and not see people swimming.
If you can keep him inside the thing I think you'll be fine.
Not sure. Probably, but I would call them directly
Not sure. They have nice staff there during business hours, call and ask to be sure.

If you are going to fish anywhere that's not on your or someone's private property, yes you need a license. We don't fish there, we love it for kayaking and picnics...
What months are the peddle boats, kayaks, and canoes available for rental?
