A very nice place to stay. The D/D/S room was spacious and clean. Adequate number of towels were left in the room. Thick curtains covered all the windows. The courtyard was a very welcoming area to bbq. The Inn is close to beach access and a lovely area to stay. Staff was friendly and efficient. Steps are required for a number of rooms so if you have mobility needs, please request accommodation. Tub was a bit slippery when wet, so if staff is reading this, please add safety strips.

We spent a wonderful day in Ocracoke...and spent the night at the Pony Island Motel. With a bias against anything called a 'motel', we were concerned...but wow, we were so happy with the manager who checked us in and the facility itself. A recent hurricane had apparently flooded the first floor, where I stayed with 2 adult kids traveling with me. So everything was brand new and very nice! We enjoyed our stay and our only regret is the shortness of the stay! We will be back, hopefully soon!

Stayed here for a night in the off-season just to get away. Staff was friendly amd the room was clean. Not much in the way off amenities; the TV was very low quality and we couldn't find extra blankets. The bathroom was nice and had plenty of hot water. Location is great, but don't expect much open if you're here before April / May.

Stayed in simple but clean 2 double bed room with fridge and microwave. Ceiling fan in room was a nice touch, AC was cold. Bathroom super clean, water hot! Housekeeping did a great job everyday. Grounds were well kept and quiet. Large sized pool that was also very clean. Location was excellent and close to everything. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Ocracoke!

No, there is no guest laundry facility.
Yes, all 50 rooms have a hair dryer according to their web page. All the rooms are non-smoking, air-conditioned and have cable TV, hair dryers, telephones, microwave and small refrigerators.
Dawn, unfortunately not. If you drive an SUV one option I have seen people use in this situation is to make space in vehicle for the dog and let them sleep there. This depends on the time of year and the temperature at night. Hope this helps, the Pony Island Motel is a great place for humans to stay.
