Great way for kids to interact with horses without paying ridiculous prices for short trail or pony rides. Must be able to gain access to Ft. Sam, so military (CAC, DOD, VA) ID required. They offer pony and trail rides on weekends at reasonable prices. Visiting with horses during business hours is free.

I highly recommend this experience. We brought our 5 and 3 year old and they did so well with the animals. The staff was helpful and kind. We enjoyed the grounds, it is hot so make sure you bring water. We appreciated that they had helmets to borrow. What an affordable and unique option to expose your kids to this gentle animal :) we brought carrots and apples to feed them afterwards, they loved it!

Great place to take the kids. My 2 and 5 year old loved it. It was raining so we rode inside. Great price. 15 minutes is more than enough for the kids. Went to the PX to grab lunch afterwards.

Military or DOD contractor
No lessons or trails at the moment. They should be getting new instructors out there to start working sometime next week
There is a height requirement as well but i think the ages start at 4 or 5.
You do have to a military ID or have someone with an ID that can "sponser" so you can get a visitor's pass. Please go to the visitors center at the Gate on Walters instead of holding up the line getting into the gate.
Yes... $40hr or $25 half hour... cheaper than other places I looked into.
