Overpriced and underwhelmed. For being a 5 star hotel, they were not accommodating. They operate like a Holiday Inn but charge like the Ritz. There is red tape with everything. Our rooms were decent and looked like mediocre townhomes from the outside. We were left with dirty linens and a leaky ceiling that soaked our valuables on our bedside table. Also, no room service. The restaurant took 5 hours to serve us dinner and required everyone order a 7-course meal if one person at table does. It took an hour just to get our drinks. We were the only ones eating and did not leave until midnight and they were not apologetic. They also offer ‘tea time’ daily but if you show up you will be turned away, even if they’re not busy… it requires a reservation to BREW TEA. And if you’re looking for something to do other than eat or drink, you can look at the goats. It’s isolated with nothing to do.

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon for tea at Fearrington House Inn. The food was absolutely beautiful. They were literal little pieces of artwork and they were divine. From the delectable finger sandwiches to the delicate mousse to the devilishly delicious chocolate, every bite was tantalizing perfection. The richness of the food was countered well with the tea. The selections change and range from light to green to dark. Afternoon tea at Fearrington House Inn was a feast for all the senses.
