The worst experience of my life! And why the mask mandate ? It's 09/22, I thought masks were optional at this point. I don't have to wear one on an airline, why should I have to wear one here ? My mask dropped down under my nose and I had a wildebeest of a woman demand that I pull it up or else. Seriously, I don't know weather to laugh or be ticked off. They are all on a power trip here, and I actually pity them. Furthermore this place is just as disorganized as our government. Pack a lunch, be prepared to wait for long periods and be bring your sense of humor, or you will probably have a melt down from all the stupidity you will encounter here.

I went to take some papers back ( not knowing they had a drop box) so I signed in and was told to sit at station 4 until my turn. There was a couple at window 5 that was wrapping up and about to leave so once they move I asked the worker behind the window could I ask her a question she said “no” in a nasty tone and closed her blind down..smh it dnt pay to be nasty all I wanted to ask if I had to wait to be seen or could I just drop the envelope off.. so I asked the officer and he was very helpful and took me to where I needed to leave the envelope I swear some people let their job go to their heads. If you gonna be dealing with people you gotta have a good attitude

I had a phone meeting scheduled on September 2, with the Columbia, SC office and spoke with Nathan Isbell. He was exceptionally courteous, knowledgeable and dealt with my needs promptly.

I had a phone interview with Ms. Jeter on March 8, 2022 at 9:00 for a phone appointment. I'm 62 and have had custody of two children for the past 10 years. At the end of my appointment, I asked how I go about adding the children. She (and it's on the recording) in a condescending manner said, "Ma'am, we're the social security office, we don't go by that. You have to adopt them." Six months weeks later, I learn she was absolutely incorrect. I'm typing this today as my appoint to receive a phone call this morning (Sept. 1) is apparently not happening either.

You're allowed to make 19, 000 a year. What ever you do don't work over 40 hours. Stay under 25....that's your best bet. These people don't want you to make no money, they don't give enough to live off...even when you can't physically work!!! I can't physically work.
I need proof of income. Myy new address is 1604 tenth st Bay City Michigan 48708
I would definitely go in to check on the status. Take all documents with you. Tge building opens at 7 but SS doesn't open until 9. Avoid the wait by being there at least by 830..
Yes you can
There is no drop box.
You can not apply online in South Carolina
It could take 3 -9 months to 1-1/2 2 yrs.; unless you are ostentatiously horribly, sadly, terribly and tragically disabled "temporarily-permanently disabled" (Yes, that is an actual description or describes a set of conditionals that suits the admistrative law judge who HEARS your appeal; a appeal letter being denied is assured by enlarge -- the notion that you imagine sending an appeal "letter" and it being regarded in any other way but one more form filled that you are seeking benefits or funds and it having a different impact than the initial "application for benefits" being different is naive of you; call a Social Security Attorney -- you may already know of one but the SSA / the US Treasury (your government, not Trumps, JFK's or Hillary's Gov't) is subj to perform in a lawful way providing a true service to American society, you are entitled to have as good or better legal representation as the SSA Attorneys at your Appeal Hearing -- that's what's happening get up to speed
You can go in person and get one the same day.
You shouldn't, but it is better if you call first because they have been closed for a while and there are a lot of people everyday and they just accept 20 individuals at the same time inside of the office.
Yes it is! And how they can put all the accessible parking places marked for, as I noticed as I sat there at the pay meter waiting for someone to move because I couldn't of made it up the big hill and the 1/2 mile walk from the front parking lot to the front door and then stood up until I finally got to my turn! Why they have all the close parking spaces assigned to employees that are not handicapped and most of them are security that are more than healthy enough to climb that steep walk up to the front and then on to the front door? This state really has their priorities mixed up!
Social Security Administration Buiding is open for walk ins but I would call and set an appointment...

Yes, but you have a choice: none, 7%, 12%, or 22%. When you apply for benefits you may choose then or if you want to change your tax deduction later you'll need to file a W-4V form which can be found online and printed. Then either mail it to your local SS office or take it in. If you choose none you will have to pay the withholding taxes at the first of the next year. The tax withheld on SS is Federal only. Not state tax.
It can be mailed takes longer oe email u have to call them
Absolutely about 3 weeks
You can get it early before next year and that way you don't have to worry about it in the year 2020
