Charleston is a favorite vacation spot for us and for about the past 6 years we have gone about once a year. Many restaurants have come and gone from our "must do" list, but Poogan's Porch is a requirement for each trip! I love the fact that it is in an old historic house...quaint and charming! The food is always delicious and well priced (especially for a the Charleston area). Great service....delicious food....charming atomsphere...good prices....PERFECTION!

Being a frequent visitor of Charleston I had always wanted to go to Poogans Porch. I've read reviews from Google as well as southern cuisine magazines and everyone seemed to love it. Unfortunately the day we went was not "Our" day to have an enjoyable experience. Starting with the Fried Green Tomatoes - pretty bland and our dish with the pimento cheese had a huge chip out of it and a huge Crack down the side. My husband's Shrimp and Grits was super crusty around the edges and my Egg White was rubbery and very dry. My hashbrowns looked like the we're from the freezer section of the grocery store and deep fried. I'm sorry Poogans Porch to write this I'm confident that our day was just a fluke...at least I hope so.

We sat at the bar briefly before being seated. In the beginning the service was quite good, that is - until the order was placed and then it was rather sluggish. Other guests were served better than we were. We had an appetizer, 2 main courses, 2x Budweiser and an iced tea and paid $90, I've definitely eaten better for that. The food was good, but not amazing, and I'm sure the service was great for other guests, just not for us. Too bad. Hope the waitress was just not in the mood for tourists. (We were friendly and well dressed...)

They dont have a happy hour
Yes, but you might want to double check on their website for the time when breakfast will be served.
We sat out front on the porch, and there were stairs to get there, but there were also tables at street level that don't require you to come up into the restaurant. They might have another entrance I'm not sure (if you wanted to eat inside)
Staff and customers were wearing masks. Poogan's Porch is rather small so I believe they were doing about 50% capacity seating. Tables were well spaced and we felt very comfortable. Reservations are almost a must. They were not seating walk-ins until 8:45 pm.
I do not know if they offer gift cards, the best way to find out is to give them a call. We called before we walked in to see if it was reservations only and the hostess was very helpful and answered all of our questions.
No
9 am- 2:30 pm daily
They did when we were there, that was just this week (Monday).
Not sure if they do, you could call them and see. We went there for Christmas Day.
