This is a beautiful park with amazing views of the Hudson River and Hudson Highlands across the river. The park is very popular and on weekends could be overcrowded. There are several access points: 1) from Mountains Rd (small parking 5-7 cars top) closer to Storm King Mt. 2) off highway 218 at Cornwall (Esty & Hellie Stowell trail-head, large parking) – closer to Storm King Mt. 3) further to the south along 218 there are two road-side parking area near the Stilman Spring trail (41.42627, -73.98341 and 41.42583, -73.98135) – this is the closest to the Hudson river and North Point summit: 4) two side road parking off 9W -41.42307, -74.00094 - 20-30 cars at least – here you can chose it is in between Storm King Mt and North Point 5) and smaller one at 41.41496, -73.99363 - this one is close to North Point Summit. There is also a trail coming from Storm King Mountain School on Mountain Rd, but I am not sure whether you can park there. There are multiple trails some of which are fairly challenging and some are narrow with a fairly steep drop down :). There are a few unmarked trail that lead to a various interesting rocky structures and cliffs but you need a map to understand where you go. At the time I was there there were no sources of water at/near Storm King Mt. summit. Dogs are allowed on a leash but some trails could be challenging.

It’s beautiful all year round. Beautiful views. Tranquil. Never crowded. Multiple trail options. Always find parking. Wouldn’t change a thing.

Perfect for medium trained. Good amount of flat and decent climbs. Depends on your goal you can spend hrs on the trails. All worth it.
You can no permit needed. No water sources besides lakes and streams. Just wouldn't have a fire to close to any roads. Same thing with 7 lakes and bear mtn.
Definitely not. Steep trails with lots of rocks, tree roots and boulders.
👎 no you can't
Only one dock I know of n it's used by military.
I don't recall seeing any signs saying they were not allowed, but some parts of this trail are relatively steep scrambles and I'm not sure if you can bike up that terrain...
No the park is open, we did not have to pay a fee :)
There isn't formal parking for it, but if you go early enough, there should be space for you. Parking space is limited
Not an issue at Storm King. Ticks and the occasional patch of mosquitos are present however.
Indeed they are. But please, I implore everyone, clean up after him or her. It gets to be a minefield of poop. Also, take the bag with you. Thanks and happy hiking!!!
It is not clear I'd they are. Saw nothing in the news. I suggest calling the Parks Office. You can find the number on Google Maps.
A great view on top, looking up and down the Hudson River. This spot is only for 3-4 car parking with a few motor bikes tucked in. Boulders along edge to sit on for a perfect picnic setting. Broken glass and graffiti didn't stop us feom enjoying this high view point.
You can learn about local ecology at Black Rock Forest- a consortium of many university colleges dedicated for ecological research!
