Four Tesla Powerwall batteries, wall mounted two locations, and looking good. Installation team extremely well run, quietly interactive, and efficient. I was impressed. If these are the same guys that will be coming to upgrade my solar panel arrays, I'll be a happy camper.

Great client oriented service. Not the cheapest…but certainly the best solar company around with the best product.

I had Solar Impact install an upgraded solar array on my roof with a Tesla Power Wall. The system has been fantastic and has kept my house powered even when the neighborhood and this side of the City has been hit by power outages. Producing my own power also helps loosen the reliance on GRU for power (I actually sell them power!) Highly recommend going with Solar Impact.

Great company. I had a problem before moving and they came right out and dealt with it immediately and efficiently. The staff were excellent, even helping me with an issue I had while they were out there. Now that I sold my house I am really missing the 8+ years of solar that contributed to my low electric bill. I highly recommend Solar Impact for anyone considering solar.

We can securely install solar panels on most roofs, including sloped roof, flat roofs, shingle roofs, metal roofs, etc. We especially like concealed fastener or standing seam roof because we can clamp to the metal roof seam and completely avoid roof penetrations.
The best orientation for solar is SE to SW with South being the best. Southeast to Southwest orientations will result in only a slight annual energy reduction of 2% to 4%. We can even installs systems due West or East, but you can expect anywhere from 12% to 18% less production than a Southern orientation. If you have no shading issues, then adding a couple more solar modules to your system will compensate for these losses. The optimum roof pitch or tilt angle is between 15° - 45°, with only 2% to 4% loss compared to the ""perfect"" pitch. Even a flat pitch roof will only result in about a 10% annual output reduction; however, we recommend to never have a flat solar array due to major soiling issues that will require unacceptable maintenance schedules and reduction of the solar energy system life. Actually, because solar panels have no moving parts, they are virtually maintenance-free. You really only need to keep your solar panels clean. We recommend cleaning them once or twice a year, after the pollen season has ended.

It will depend entirely on the size of the solar energy system and your site efficiency. To provide some kind of baseline, however, we can say a typical 5kW system (5,000 watts) will produce approximately 550-kilowatt hours per month. The average home in Gainesville, Florida uses about 1,000-kilowatt hours each month, so a 5kW system would reduce your monthly electricity bill by 55%. Our Florida homeowner customers typically want their solar system sized to cover 90-100% of their electricity bill. Call Solar Impact today and we can provide a free solar quote based on your home and energy use: (352) 338-8221.

Most grid tied solar electric systems do not provide electrical power during electrical power outages. As a requirement of a grid tied inverter's safety listing, it must shut down in the event of grid power loss. Backup power systems can be designed into a grid tied solar system with the addition of a battery bank and a battery powered inverter. This option adds complexity and expense that should be weighed against the benefit of having backup power. Solar Impact is a Tesla Powerwall Certified Installer providing battery storage options for your grid-tied solar PV systems. Find out more here: https://www.solarimpact.com/service/battery-storage
