A surgeon is only as good as his office staff. It took weeks for my office note to be signed and I still have yet to hear from other providers offices that referrals were supposed to be sent to. When I call the office for updates, they speak to me like I am annoying, an inconvenience, and not a priority. They did not communicate with me at all and I had to figure out how to get everything done on my own. I even emailed his Bariatric Program Coordinator begging for help because no one at the office was helping me, and I never got a reply. Needless to say, I’ll be switching to a surgeon and staff who actually care, who are kind, and who are as determined as I am to get this surgery scheduled ASAP so I can begin to live a healthier life.

The entire staff at Ocala Surgical Group and Dr. Angel Caban are the most professional and caring health care providers you will ever encounter! I am a 100 percent service connected disabled veteran, and have had over 17 surgeries in my lifetime, and without a doubt this was the most caring staff I've ever encountered! I had double Inginual hernia's, and Dr. Caban and staff repaired my hernia's using DaVinci robotic and I had minimal pain and almost back to myself within 2 1/2 weeks. That says a lot, especially since I've this surgery twice since the age of 10 and I'm now 68 years old. I Thank each and every one for the wonderful job in repairing my hernia's and my total confidence to return again when needed!

Dr Caban is very nice and knowledgeable, even though he couldn't help me. His office staff is lazy and inefficient. I had to chase down a referral after 3 months. When called on it, I get an I'm sorry.

It depends on the physical condition. I have operated people in the 70s... More than 75 - 80 is not worth it...
call the office and ask for Dana.. She will tell you.
Dr. Caban is an excellent 5 star surgeon. He and his staff are knowledgeable, personalable, helpful, kind and caring. I had a Nissen Fundoplication for a Hital Hernia, GERD and problems with my diaphragm and I was in alot of pain for a long time. I am 4 months post surgery with no pain and I am no longer on a soft food eating plan and can eat regular food.
I think you will need to contact Florida Blue to see coveraged benefits.
