My experience at the homeless shelter at the YWCA in Harrisburg was horrible first of all this supervisors act like they donβt want to help you with housing they act like they are limited and they look irritated whenever you need to follow up on things it just depletes your hope and motivation for a better life second of all there was a roommate who lived in the same room as me who was clearly I mean clearly obnoxious disrespectful irate and violent 24 seven and they did nothing about this this roommate also the same roommate stole from me on numerous occasions and they did nothing about this either all they did was say I am sorry but did absolutely nothing about it then they have the nerve to send me a notice to leave the shelter before they even helped me with anything mind you I was not the only one complaining about this roommate many people wore and they did not seem to care this was an a horrible experience and I was better off living in the streets or in my car I am just being honest everyoneβs experience is different this was mine

You have to go to the help ministries first to get a voucher
My case worker at the ywca helped me get funding for the apartment I found. I got the first month paid for. They can also give you lists of low income housing and other things depending on your situation.
No I'm not however if you contact the Ywca the would greatly point you in the right direction.
You would have to go into the YWCA for that
They were packed when I went but were very helpful. Wont hurt to try. Good luck hon!!
Yes if they have an opening
It is for women and children!!!! Call Help ministries and they can help you get onto the coordinated entry list for emergency housing for you and your son.
You should call YWCA to see on what they can helped or give her the number.
This is a woman's Y!!!
Ywca is free. You have to contact the H.E.L.P. office to get in usually between 1-3 days .they feed you here so you could pay for your medicine. But there are no groups or counselors here due to covid.
The YWCA Of Greater Harrisburg is Mostly For Homeless Women. You Would Have To Call and Find Out For Sure.
All donatable items that you would normally donate they will take I'm not too sure about a bulk items like furniture and things of that nature you would probably have to call them Frozen CD how to work that out if not there's always the Goodwill but you know but from household goods to personal household goods to personal hygiene and clothing for a children's clothing and women's clothing everywhere from that they will take and you can drop it off that same day that same day I would just call them though and let them know that you're wanting to drop it off so it'll make somebody aware that it's going to be dropped off and what it is you're dropping off thank you for donating to the greater YWCA you have a good
No, you would have to go help ministries to find a resource The ywca is for women only
Most likely not..
Then you're looking for the YMCA. Not the YWCA
This is a shelter for women and children.. The YMCA has the gym.
No bit the bus go there on market st
They do not just provide showers you would have to come in to shelter through winter over night
Do you guys cover residents in Cumberland County or just Dauphin County? If you don't cover Cumberland County, would you have a number for them?
