Extremely unpolite customer service and no replies on emails. I planned on buying an expansive book… well, I guess you lost me as a customer now. I won’t recommend to anyone that store in future. Edit: no further replies from the book store. Anyways, there are many other better book stores and better prices out there…

Super cool, old school book store...

The books were beautiful. The place seemed majestic and gave me a presentation of a place that values the buildings history. They have varieties of books. I saw a lot of books that are “old” not in a bad way.

Very helpful staff. they even "touched up" and shipped an old book for us so that we didn't have to fly home with it in our luggage.

They are a bit more expensive now but worth every penny!
I'd give them a call during their listed buisness hours. If Google is up to date, they're open Monday through Friday 10am through 6pm.
Hi Peggy, Thanks very much for the inquiry but sadly those titles are too recent for us... Atlases printed before 1850 would certainly be of interest. Happy new year!
Hello Ruth. Thanks for the inquiry and sorry to hear that you're leaving New York! We certainly do buy books but the 2 items you mention would not be of much interest... The Baedeker's could be OK but we'd only want very early editions of more far-flung locations like Russia, China or Middle East (not Europe). If you have photos of other books on the shelf, feel free to send those along and we can take it from there...
We are always buying interesting books in excellent condition but are rather choosy about titles… we already have 2 warehouses filled with “good” books so we really are only looking for “special” material.
Thanks for asking but right now we do not have any of these titles in stock… you can always check for yourself on our website argosybooks.com
We certainly do — but mostly photo books about garden & landscape design rather than practical horticulture.
maybei don't know for sure but that's a nice library, people are nice
Hi Avinash, That's terrible news -- thanks for letting us know. I will send you my social security number and credit card info right away! I hope you can get us out of danger ;-)
Hi John, Sorry to say that these would not be for us here in NYC but perhaps up north they would be more sought after... No idea about the value but condition does not sound terrific. You should visit the website BOOKFINDER.COM and see what prices (retail) are reflected there. Good luck!
We were indeed one of the locations used in the film, but more interestingly we were the one's (in real life) who arranged the sting with the FBI and she was finally arrested right here in the store!
Call them directly they're very polite
Send us a picture and we will do our best to help!
Hello from NYC... I don't seem to have this in stock right now... did you see somewhere that we have one?
Yup! Check out their website. The advanced search filters will help you there
They are a bookstore not publishers. Go to McNally Jackson if you want to self publish. They have a press.
