I will never again go back to Jackson Hewitt. I have dealt with more issues this year with my taxes than I ever have in my entire life. The first person who did my taxes named James did my taxes "backwards" (he had it down that I owed the state of MA the amount I owed for my federal taxes). I went back, had them fix it and they supposedly "amended" it. I attempted to call the manager of the store to report how badly this individual messed up my taxes initially (I was out $1,000 for a couple of months because of the mistake he made) and the only person who answered was the person who botched my taxes. I kept asking for the manager, but the manager was never "there". I called Jackson Hewitt corporate to report it, and what I was told was "Well mistakes happen and I'm sure you understand. I apologize". Barely an apology and the person who messed up my taxes was never spoken to about his large error. Then, just a few days ago, I received a letter from the IRS saying I still owe $950! I couldn't believe it. I went back to Jackson Hewitt to have them review my taxes AGAIN. They reviewed it and the second person who supposedly "amended" my taxes gave me a mail-in voucher to rectify my state taxes, but did not alert me that I still owed the Fed $950! I was livid. I had to pay the IRS $950 in less than a month's time and if not, my over-due taxes would build up interest! I am never going back to Jackson Hewitt ever again and I will be reporting this to the BBB.
