I called MacDonald Vet and asked if they were taking new routine patients, as my single cat is very behind on his vaccines and I need them updated so I can move into my new apartment. They told me yes, but I would need to send over his records and the doctor would have to look them over to see if MacDonald was the “right fit.” Told me 2-3 days max, and they would call me back. Fast forward a week, still haven’t heard anything, call them back, get told that they’re busy and to give a phone number and she would call me back quickly instead of putting me on hold. Fast forward four hours and I call them AGAIN, only to be told by a different person that I “misunderstood” what the lady had told me and that they would give me a call back tomorrow because there’s apparently only one person that can make those decisions. Annoyed, but whatever. I get a call back finally the next day, only to be told that they wouldn’t be taking my cat because they “don’t have time for just vaccinations.” ??? I’m sorry, but taking a week and a half to look at single piece of paper (my cat’s record is super clean, never been sick, or injured) just to tell me “no,” is beyond frustrating, also given the fact that I had stressed to them multiple times that I needed to get him an appointment ASAP so I could have the paperwork to my landlord before move-in at the end of the summer. In that week and a half that I was waiting for them to get back to me I could have taken his records elsewhere. The lack of communication at MacDonald is very apparent - I think I spoke to four different people over this whole ordeal and none of them knew what I had told another. Just be wary
