Had a Crow that fell out of a tree and broke its wing so i called the Ohio Wildlife center and told them the situation and a worker came all the way and picked up the bird.

Take him to the wildlife Reserve near you they will help. You will fill out paper where u found it and etc and they give you way keep you updated on its progress and if it gets better they release it near where it was found. I took a baby bird to one . It didnt make it though cause it was featherless but they did update me. But they do everything they can for it.
I know where to take them in Ohio but not sure where in Kentucky you would take them. Try looking for any Wildlife Center or state game warden.
Opossum are really docile most of the time (and eat ticks and other bugs you don't want!) I agree with getting a live box trap, they love cat food, I wonder if that is what it went into the basement for?
I live in Licking County, is that area one you guys cover?
If you are in the Central Ohio area you can take the bird to the OWC hospital located at 2661 Billingsley Rd, Columbus 43235. Open until 5:00.
Hello! I am an employee at the Ohio Wildlife Center and definitely recommend the little bird be admitted to the hospital. Baby birds can't eat whole foods yet at that stage and need frequent feedings with proper formula. The kinds of food they eat is entirely dependent on the kind of bird it is. If the baby is not begging for food, that is an indicator that something isn't right.
You can take it to the Ohio wildlife center, they are located off the 270 freeway and sawmill on billingsley avenue. They are in the same center as animal Care unlimited and you will go to the right side of the building where the big white tent is. Or you can take it to the Ohio bird sanctuary in Mansfield off the 71 freeway. Both places are closed right now but should open tomorrow morning. There's not a fee to drop them off.
Don't feed it. Just put it in a dark box and bring it in the morning.
I am a volunteer with Ohio Wildlife Center. Best to keep them in a warm, dark place for the night. You can bring to the OWC hospital at 2661 Billingsley Rd when the hospital opens tomorrow morning at 9:00.
Greetings. Thanks for helping the cardinal. Please check here for your nearest rehabber. Call them first and be sure they're open/taking patients. Good luck! https://ohiodnr.gov/static/documents/wildlife/permits/Ohio%20DOW%20Wildlife%20Rehabilitators.pdf
Take the little guy to the wildlife center. In the last 6 months I've taken 2 birds there, one that flew into my house when I opened the door and right into the clutches of my cat! The other was a baby morning dove that fell out of its nest and I couldnt even find the nest.
Typically Ohio Wildlife does not have the staffing to make rescues (private individual here, not an OWC staff). Can you post on social media to find someone willing to help nearby msybe?
Take to wildlife center on Billingsley.
Ohio Wildlife, 2661 Billingsley Rd, Cols. Entrance is on side of building...not out front.
Take away the food and water. Injured animals are often in shock and should not be fed. Depending on the injury birds may recover quickly and fly away, so put the box somewhere outside, open, but out of harm's way. If it hasn’t flown away within an hour bring it inside and keep it in a box with a lid overnight somewhere dark and quiet, and bring it to the rescue when they open in the morning.
If it's still there tomorrow you can bring it to the hospital between 9am and 3pm. If you're not in the Columbus area we can help you find someone closer.
Yes. The hospital is the best place for it. There may even be more fledglings of the same species for it to be with.
They do take very tiny birds at the Ohio wildlife center but they need to be fed very often so you don't have much time to get him there.
Call them and ask for advice before you bring them in!
Did you reach anyone yet? I'm at work now but if you can give me your number somehow i could call you. I work for the wildlife center
Hi Kristi. Yes the goose is close to a water source (retention pond) but it is very difficult for him/her to get into the water due to what seems to be her back/wing injury and there is no other type of shelter she can go to during inclement weather. We also have foxes and coyotes around this area.
I would contact the wildlife center and check with them
What if the mother has died
Check out their website for tips and if they aren't detailed enough, give the volunteers a call in the morning.
Should be no problem.
You have to be 18 to volunteer at the hospital. I have been a volunteer there for 4 years.
You can bring them to the hospital at 2661 Billingsley Rd (first street north of I-270 AND Sawmill Rd.
Call the facility and ask how to procede. Theyh ave signs posted saying not to.bring skunks inside. Might need to get a wildlife removal.service. they are prepared to get skunk sprayed.
