Called to get my furnace repaired.Instead of this company,Gold Medal came. Was told I have a gas leak and need a new system. The guy told me a new system will be $5000-10,000.Had him just cap the gas line.$340 just for that.Since he left all the stuff he took off,I had it reinstalled.NO GAS leak. This company is a con.I’m thinking about reporting gold medal to BBB. I had an another business give me an estimate and it was about $3000.

Hired TEAM after getting an astronomical quote from AJ Perri. Salesman talked a good game and was very friendly. Insisted on installing an AC unit that was the size required by the calculated square footage of the home. Here we are a couple summers in and still struggle to get the house below 78 on a summer day. Promised a new main water shutoff valve to the house with the $10,000 installation and was told at the completion of work that the "valve was the city's property" and it was their problem. Spoke to the city and surprise....it wasn't their responsibility. Finally TEAM came out and "added" not replaced the water main valve. But here I am still sweating in the house with a brand new system. Thanks for nothing. I could have maintained this atmosphere with ceiling fans and no AC.

They are now owned by Gold Medal and that company has a horrible reputation. I wouldn't even let them give me an estimate

My Attic fan was bad so I asked my neighbor who he used and he recommended Team Electric Plumbing and Air. John answered the phone and we made plans for him to come over in a couple of days. I have a very steep pitch roof on my house and John was in and out in one hour after diagnosing that it wasn't the thermostat, but that the fan was burned out. The price was fair, but the service was very prompt and we're enjoying our new attic fan.

A loose temperature and pressure valve may be the cause of a water leak. On the other hand, a water leak may be due to a malfunctioning drain valve. If you notice a water leak near the drain valve, it’s important to confirm the valve is completely closed. It is not uncommon for old water heaters to form a leak once they are drained. The easiest way to fix this type of leak is to connect a hose cap to the valve. You may be required to replace the drain valve to eliminate the leak.
Copper pipes are more resistant to corrosion when compared to galvanized steel pipes. In addition, copper pipes are lightweight and easy to install in households. This type of piping is engineered to distribute water and liquid in long distances to meet your requirements. A variable to consider prior to purchasing new water pipes for your house is the environment. Copper pipes are less harmful towards the environment when compared to plastic pipes.
An obvious advantage of using PEX pipes instead of copper is price. This type of piping material is a fraction of the price of copper. In addition, it costs less money to install PEX pipes since they eliminate the need for soldering. PEX pipes are flexible and easy to bend around tight corners of households. The only way to turn a corner with copper is to integrate two pipes together.
PVC pipes have become popular in the plumbing industry because they are lightweight and easy to carry. Although it may take an entire crew of technicians to carry a large iron pipe, a PVC pipe is able to be transported by a single person. In addition, this type of pipe takes less time to install when compared to steel pipes. The joints that are integrated with PVC pipes are also engineered to prevent water leaks.
The compressor in an air conditioner is engineered to distribute refrigerant to different components throughout the system. Issues with the compressor may be caused by a low supply of oil or a clogged expansion valve. The motor oil in a compressor is designed to preserve internal parts. Once the supply of oil becomes too low, the total amount of friction between parts will increase. This type of issue will cause damage to the internal parts in the compressor.
If you’ve talked with your neighbors in the past about ways to save money on energy bills, you may have been told it’s a good idea to keep your air conditioner on throughout the day when you’re not home to save money. This is a myth that is being spread by inexperienced individuals and technicians. In reality, you will spend more money each month operating an air conditioner consistently when compared to deactivating it when you’re not home.
The proper water heater size for your property will vary depending on the total number of people living in your house. An average household of 3 to 4 people will need a hot water heater with a 50 - 60 gallon tank. On the other hand, a single couple that does not have children may only require a 30 - 40 gallon water heater. In rare cases, you may be required to purchase a water heater with a 80 gallon tank or lager if you have 5 or more people living in your household.
Your air conditioning system may produce a burning odor due to an overactive motor, damaged wiring, or a malfunctioning component. To prevent a fire, walk to your electrical panel in your garage or laundry room and deactivate the central air conditioner. Call a certified HVAC contractor to perform an emergency air conditioning tune-up appointment.
Do you notice a smoky odor when the air conditioner is activated? This may be caused by a family member that smokes in your house. If you smoke inside your home, a foul odor may buildup in your HVAC filter or evaporator coil. To prevent a costly AC tune-up or replacement, we recommend smoking outside to prolong the life cycle of your system.
If you notice a musty odor in an area of your house while your air conditioner is activated, this is a signal of issues such as contaminated evaporator coils or clogged drain pans. Unfortunately, you will be required to purchase specialized tools and hardware to fix these issues. To save money, call a licensed technician in your area to perform an AC tune-up.
As your central air conditioner becomes older, you may start to notice short-cycling issues throughout the summer season. ‘Short-Cycling’ is a term that refers to a central air conditioner that is continuously activating and deactivating during the day. The central air conditioner will start to deactivate swiftly prior to finishing a full cooling cycle. A short-cycling issue may be caused by a refrigerant leak, air duct leak, clogged air filter, or malfunctioning thermostat.
There are various reasons your air conditioner may be struggling to provide cold air to your house. Three ordinary causes of this issue include dirty condenser fins, frozen evaporator coils, and clogged air filters. On the other hand, your house may be warm due to an improperly sized air conditioner. If your system is too small for the total square footage of your house, the central air conditioner will operate continuously throughout the day to keep your air cold.
If you cook for your family and friends, you most likely do a lot of dishes. Prior to washing your dishes, keep in mind what can and cannot go into your garbage disposal. Some items lodge in your disposal, and remain, clogging your pipes and costing you major inconvenience. Food items to avoid include coffee grounds, grease, pasta, rice, bones, celery, fruit pits, potato peels, and egg shells.
If your air conditioner is not working, check for a tripped circuit or blown fuse. If you need assistance swapping a fuse, contact our HVAC contractors and electricians. If you do not have a tripped circuit or a blown fuse, there may be an issue with your fan. To confirm that your blower is receiving power, flip the switch to “On”. If your fan does not activate, your blower is not the issue. Instead, you may have a problem with your thermostat. Check to see if your thermostat is working by setting it 5 degrees lower. If the air doesn’t switch on, you most likely have a thermostat issue. Other signs of a broken thermostat include the constant switching on and off of your air conditioning, or if the room temperature does not match the thermostat. Lastly, your air conditioner may be broken if the condenser coils are filthy or blocked. Remove the panel, located directly above the coils, to confirm a blockage within your unit.
There are a variety of reasons your furnace may not be working in your home or facility. One thing to check is the circuit breakers or fuses, located within your circuit breaker box. Breaker boxes are typically found in your basement, garage, storage room, hallway, or outdoors. Reset the breaker for the furnace by flipping the switch completely off, then on again. Typically, breakers trip due to circuit overload, short circuit, or ground fault. If that’s the case, resetting it should solve the issue. However, if you reset the breaker, and the furnace still does not work, your fuse may be blown. In that case, you need to contact a professional electrician. Another reason your furnace may not work is due to a lack of fuel. Furnaces operating on propane must be refilled, and furnaces operating on oil must be primed. Whether you need a furnace primed or refilled, a fuse replaced, or if your breaker continues to trip after resetting it, contact Team Electric for top-notch service.
One common cause of flickering lamps is a faulty or broken light switch. To confirm if this is the issue, jiggle the light switch and keep an eye on your lights. If your lamps or lighting system flickers when you apply pressure, there is likely a bad connection between the light switch and your lights. Another common cause of flickering lights is an overloaded circuit. Whatever is the case, contact Team Electric for fast electrical repair.
Noisy water pipes are common in homes with copper lines. As hot water passes through a copper pipe, it may expand and come in direct contact with the structural elements of your home. If this noise is bugging you, Team Electric has a solution! They can install foam padding around your copper pipe to eliminate the noise. Another cause may be high water pressure. Consider turning down your water pressure through the pressure regulator to eliminate the sound. If your home doesn’t have a pressure regulator, contact one of our plumbers to install one. Lastly, if you hear a dripping noise in your home that isn’t coming from a sink, this may be a sign of a cracked water pipe. Talk to Team Electric, Plumbing & Air to detect the problem and find a solution.
There are various reasons your hot water heater is making odd noises in your home. If your water heater is making a popping noise, this indicates that there are excess minerals at the bottom of your tank. As your water heater ages, lime or calcium present in public water or well water gathers in the system. This sediment traps water, creating pressure that damages your water heater, even putting some older units at risk for explosions. If your water heater is making a sizzling noise, this indicates a leak. A sizzling sound is the result of water dripping onto the burner of your unit. Having little to no hot water or water on the floor beneath your water heater are also signs of leakage. For help, contact your fully-licensed Team Electric plumbers!
