Their mission to support women to fulfill their dream through education and professional career in New York City is just good. Clean and very convenient to live within the residence and in the surrounding neighborhood. I hope they will continue to thrive as a mission-driven residence since the cost of living in the city is just so high.

Lived here for about a year and a half. Extremely convenient, with a private room, security, and daily cleaning of common areas. Staff was super nice. Only complaint would be that the communal fridge was a pain. Food was stolen by other girls pretty often. Get a mini fridge.

I lived here from about 1993-1998---5 years. The location was perfect, the place was SO clean. We had private rooms but shared the bathroom facilities. The showers are in a separate room from the toilets which is very nice. There is also a laundry room on every floor. Of course, all of our calls were channeled through the switchboard and there was a payphone in the hallway for outgoing calls. Your social life would be much easier now with cell phones and the internet. The sisters were strict but kind, compassionate, and caring. There is also a lounge on the ground floor where we could receive guests. And there was a studio in the Penthouse that we could use or play the piano. And we were allowed roof access. I don't know if any of those things have changed, but you can begin to see why I stayed there for so long. The challenge was cooking in the common kitchen with the common refrigerator. A great place to build female relationships and make connections in NYC. Loved it!

When I stayed in 1968 to 1970 men were not admitted and I imagine the price has changed a lot ...
