Yes you can
Goto Time Square 42nd Street Subway station, from there take 7 Subway train and get down at Flushing Main St. From this Subway station you need to walk for a mile to reach the temple.
Yes they do. I have seen a separate facility within the temple premises
Yes they have parking located behind the temple on Smart Street and it is free of charge and on a first come first serve basis. But on special days when there are festivals and pujas it is hard to find parking. I do recommend getting there early on those days if you need to look for street parking which is available in all the streets near the temple.
Take Subway Train No. 7 from Times Square to Flushing Main Street (the last stop on 7 train). Then take MTA Bus Q27 from Main Street to Bowne Street on Holly Avenue. The bus runs on Kissena Blvd and turns left into Holly Ave Bus Stop. The next stop is Bowne Street near the temple. The bus ride is about 5 to 10 minutes
I believe it is from 8 to 8. But check on the ganesh temple web site.
7.a.m to 9.p.m
UPDATED on June 29, 2018: Thanks for asking.. Temple’s own FREE and limited parking facility is located behind the temple on Smart Street – just opposite to the Community Center and is available free of charge on first-come-first serve basis. Street parking is available in all streets around the temple. Street cleaning around the Temple is on Mondays and Tuesdays - 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. So, devotees and visitors will be able to get easy parking especially on Mondays and Tuesdays around 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m. Besides street parking, devotees and visitors may also park their car just a small block away at CENTRAL PARKING SYSTEM, next to Flushing Hospital on 45th Avenue. (Entrance via Burling Street.) Parking fee at this location is $5 per car, if the stub is validated by the Temple. Please show the stub to a Temple security officer or at the Temple counter and pay $5 in CASH to get the stub validated.
Yes they do
Please visit their website. There are too many daily events and they keep changing depending on the day of week.
Yes at our temple , Proper attire is recommended both for Men & Women. No Shorts, Ripped Jeans, Short Skirts that are above knee. We appreciate you asking this question.
They are currently open from 1pm to 6pm with 20 people capacity
Thank you for the question. Yes! While the regular marigold yellow / white flower bunches are available on all days, jasmine flowers are available mostly on weekends. Please call the Temple at: (718) 460 8484 ext. 112 to check on the availability. :)
You mean pooja items exported from India? Yeah of course. There is a temple store in the canteen area in the basement.
Thank you for asking! The Hindu Temple in Flushing (Queens, New York) does not belong to any sect. The Temple has 5 prime devatas (Hindu gods), including Lord Shiva, and several more devatas. Please see: NYGaneshTemple.org/devatas/ for more info. All are welcome to the Temple. Devotees and followers may choose to worship any or all devatas. Hope this helps! :)
I think the temple has a designated parking area, which is a few streets away...I remember seeing a notice the last time I was there. Unfortunately, I don't recall the exact location of the parking area, but the authorities might help you out if you call.
Namaste and thank you for the question.. Yes, we do perform weddings in the Temple. There are 4 beautiful spaces of varying sizes to perform weddings and other functions for 20 to 1,000 guests! We also have a Temple canteen which caters to weddings and functions as well. Both the Temple and Temple are open all days from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Please see: NYGaneshTemple.org/directions for directions. Please call: (718) 460 8484 ext. 125 or 126 for all inquiries and bookings. :)
Thank you for the question.. Are you asking about "Chorunnu" - the function to feed rice to a baby for the first time? Please call the Temple at: (718) 460 8484 ext. 112 and explain to the staff in English. :)
No, Temple is open every day from 8am to 9pm and weekends 7:30am to 9pm.. No closing in between..
Temple Cafeteria is open from 8:30 am to 9:00 pm
Cateen till 9 pm. Temple till 8 PM if you want to get pooja done calmly. Else till 9 pm
Thank you for the question. Both the peepal tree (ficus religiosa or sacred fig) and the neem (azadirachta indica) are tropical species. They do not survive the extremely cold winter of North America. Since we do not have a greenhouse in the Temple, we do not plant any tropical plants.
I am not sure
Everybody is welcome there. The only requirement is that you cannot wear shorts or any kind of revealing clothing and you have to take off your footwear outside befire entering the temple. It's a place of worship.
