Arrived in Louisville Monday 3/28/2016 at 11:00 pm and reached my hotel about midnight. The next day I called to get their showrooms exact location so I could hire a cab.I spoke with Dennis who asked for my hotels location, as a result he arraigned to have someone pick me up,which was greatly appreciated. After arriving I was led to the vehicle of interest, a 1969 Chevelle with a 427 BB which was an older restoration but looked pretty good. The car's finish had a few minor paint blemishes along with lacking a complete exhaust system with only mufflers connected to the exhaust headers. After a 35 minute inspection I was asked to go for a test drive. The car started right up and off we were with Dennis driving one way and me for the return ride. When driving, I got on the throttle and the motor was breaking up a little and attributed this to a timing or other electrical issue, no big deal and easy to correct. When we returned I noticed the both the brake and oil dash lights were illuminated (blinking) again, no big deal. After discussing certain issues we agreed on a price and used a shipper they recommended. I had it shipped in an (enclosed trailer) from their Louisville showroom to an upstate NY address for a reasonable $900. The truck driver kept me informed with his current location as he arrived closer to the drop off point. The driver was a very courteous and appeared to be quite the experienced transporter with making several such deliveries (without incident) as well as being patient, when I was looking the car over before signing off. I would use him again in a heartbeat. My wife gave me a ride to pick up the car,(which was only a short distance from my house) to the drop off location. After inspecting the Chevelle and upon the delivery/driver leaving, I started the car drove it about 200 yards under an overpass and it stalled out, what now? I turned the key and it would turn over but not start. After I opened the hood (and as I suspected,no gas). I called AAA who came with a few gallons and was on my way again. Actually while waiting for AAA there were a few interested gear heads who asked how much cash it would take to purchase the Chevelle. I could only smile in response. It really stood out from the average daily driver. I arrived home and pulling into the driveway I stepped on the brakes with the pedal hitting the floor but it did stop, just missing my Explorer. In about three or four days time I had the car towed to my buddy's shop (where upon our inspection) needed a new master cylinder and a complete brake job, pads, rotors, hoses, drums, and shoes. We checked the misfire issue which turned out to be the timing, which was too far advanced combined with a carburetor air/fuel idle mixture adjustment. When all that was complete and after passing NY state inspection I was good to go,for now. After a few days in my home garage I wanted to go out for a cruise but it failed to start, wouldn't crank, nothing. Come to find out the ignition switch was at fault and after it was replaced all went well. Out of curiosity I checked the engine block numbers,(which was advertised as having a 69 427 code block) but turned out to be a #289 454 block. After which I thought the owner/seller came up short here with their disclosure. Along with those issues and after replacing the spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, cooling system flush, installing new tires all around, the car turned out to be a pretty solid driver. Over the past few years I've installed a flowmaster exhaust system, rebuilt the turbo 400 transmission, replaced the rear coil springs with a set of MOOG heavy duty units along with a set of Bilstein shocks. Overall I'm happy with the Chevelle with plans to have taller rear end gears (have 4:11's now) installed along with a paint touch up and possibly a complete paint job that's,not really needed (but if I decide to) the wife offered to pay for half as a birthday present, Lucky Me!

I am 70 and have had many muscle cars in the 70's. Car shows, cruise nights and museums are one of my passions. I am currently restoring a 1969 Camaro Convertable. Gateway Classic Cars has one of the best collection of cars I have seen. The best part is they are all for sale. The years in Gateway Classic cars run from 50's beyond. If you are a fan of cars and want to see them up close, unlike most museums which are roped off, head to Gateway Classic Cars. They are located at 13576 Blue Lick Road ,Memphis Indiana. Head to Gateway Classic Cars and bring your checkbook or mortgage your house these cars are beautiful and you will want to take one home.

My husband Ralph and I recently consigned and sold our 1995 Ford F150 pickup truck. Eric and the guys were very professional and treated us with respect. Great people to deal with. We wouldn't hesitate to use their services in the future. Thank you Gateway!Karen, thank you so much for the 5 stars! If you need anything else, don't hesitate to reach out to the Louisville staff!

Disappointing visit to this location. There was a couple of decent cars, several mediocre, and the rest just drivers at best. All of the prices are way high, even based on current market and auction trends. But that can all be expected with …Brian, we are sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your recent Gateway Classic Cars experience. We strive to provide nothing but the best customer service and quality classic cars. Please contact us at [email protected] so we can discuss your specific experience in more detail. Thank you.
