PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THIS REVIEW IS A LITTLE BIT FOR CAMBA'S BROOKLYN HOMELESS SHELTER FOR WOMEN, BUT MOSTLY FOR CAMBA'S SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAM LOCATED AT THEIR WINTHROP ST. OFFICE: I am currently a client of CAMBA's supportive housing program. I was once homeless and stayed in their shelter where they gave good meals, activities, and a decent, clean, safe place to sleep. For the last 13 years they have been renting me a studio apartment here in Brooklyn through their Winthrop St. office, through the auspices of the Office Of Mental Health at 1/3 of my income (which is Social Security). ALL staff members at the Winthrop St. office have ALWAYS treated me with courtesy, sensitivity, professionalism and respect. Their support system suffered only a little during the worst of the pandemic. The most problems I have is when there's a change of staff, but they even have that covered by support staff and supervisors. My experiences with CAMBA have all been good and THAT is why I have only good things to say. I assure you, I'm not lying or exaggerating. I would tell ANY homeless person to seek out their services and any person who is interested in making donations to a good cause to make donations!! I'm poor and even I find a way to donate money to CAMBA through the AmazonSmile program where each time I purchase anything at Amazon.com, they make a small donation of their money to CAMBA. It doesn't come out of my pocket at all. I am grateful to CAMBA for all the help and support they have given me throughout the years and I am eternally grateful to them. I highly recommend this place to all.

Please visit our website www.camba.org and search for the assistance you are needing. There should be contact information where you can get additional answers.
Yes you can go to one of the offices and speak with someone and they'll give you a listing of apartments that takes vouchers.
No they don't
Looking for the same plus the age requirement
While CAMBA does not find housing for individuals, we can help you assess your current situation to see what options are availabe for you. Go to our website where you'll find numbers you can call with the addresses for those numbers: https://www.camba.org/homebase Homebase helps with the following: Budgeting and financial workshops Case management services Education and employment services Entitlement advocacy Legal services/informal mediation Resources for how to look for housing Short- term financial assistance
I really don't know. Guess you have have to call the office and ask them.
Yes, we do assist with employment challenges and we help people remain in a permanent home. However, CAMBA is not a housing agency, and does not assist with looking for housing. We urge you to sign onto Housing Connect at nyc.gov/hpd with the City and it will guide you to potential openings for affordable housing.
