Spectacular view, slow enough to get good pictures, has a bin for skis on the outside, all year round operational gondola to get to Little Whiteface. You are in the clouds if it is cloudy enough.

Last time I went up Little Whiteface there was a chairlift. Gondola is a major upgrade. Views up top always breathtaking.

I can’t direct you as far as seafood or veggie food at the lodge. But the Gondola is open (weather permitting) until 5pm everyday. We went later on and it was snowing….still amazing and super fun. Also if your looking for a good place to eat in Lake Placid, the Sports Bar right at the corner as you drive into town (near the Lake Placid Inn) is amazing!

They were open in August, September should have awesome colors.
Buy tickets online or at site. But spotty cell service at site so if you buy online you might not be able to show tickets from phone. Screen shot them and save them to your photo file.
No age restrictions but small children need parents. We went in September and the had experienced cool and windy weather on the top. Since you've planned for July, I think it would be good. The ride is 10 - 15 mins and I don't remember the cost but you will find it online.
