I recently had a laminectomy performed by Dr. Cucci at Biospine Institute. I would recommend that anyone who has been diagnosed to have this procedure have it done at Biospine ! Over the past 6 years I had seen four other spine/back surgeons and non of them offered any relief from my back pain. The less invasive procedure at Biospine was incredibly easy. I was taken in to Surgery at 10.15 am and was back home and walking by 2.30 pm! I have not had to take any pain medication since the surgery ( I had been taking hydrocodone and ibuprofen for 6 years). Pete Lyons

For years, I have been having back pain from a slip and fall I had many years ago. The pain came and went over 35 years. Somedays it was so painful, I couldn't get out of bed. I had had many injections, but to no avail. One day I saw a commercial for BioSpine. It sounded too good to be true. I decided to contact them as my last choice. I knew I didn't want a spinal fusion. I made an appoint that day, and went to see Dr. Cucchi at the Orlando office. He looked at my MRI and also took X-rays. Dr Cucchi said he could fix the program problem with a laminectomy. A laminectomy is a surgical procedure which creates space by removing a portion of the back part of the vertebra, the lamina. It's also known as a decompression surgery, a laminectomy. Its typically performed to alleviate pain caused from a compression of the nerves within the spinal canal called spinal stenosis I know it sounds complicated and painful, but it's about a 45 minute surgery made through a 3/4 inch incision You go home the same day! If you are suffering, give him a call. You wont be disppointed

Yes :)
Bio Spine accepted my Blue Cross insurance. I also had 2 procedures there. An ACDF or cervical fusion, and a lower lumbar laminectomy. It would be prudent to discuss with one of the doctors exactly what your sister's needs are, and go from there. Each case is unique and different. I will say that Dr. Claybrooks did both of my procedures and he was the BEST! Good Luck!!!
