One name: Jordan Freaking Nye. A Velociraptor in a 3 piece (respectfully) he undid 15 years of injustice in two court appearances. I still owe you that drink Jordan thanks for everything!

Tammy Begun and others in the office helped finalize my divorce. After my previous divorce lawyer was fired, Tammy took the time to understand my situation with a minor child involved and filed correctly while walking me through the process. The staff’s attentiveness to my case was superb! I strongly recommend others thinking about divorce or already involved to contact these experts as soon as possible. The cost is worth it, especially since I was unfamiliar with the necessary steps.

The length of the divorce process through the courts is highly uncertain. To be sure, if you are in a contested divorce matter you can estimate that it will take approximately one year to complete the divorce process. In some cases, this can be longer or shorter, depending upon the Circuit Court in which the action is filed and the issues that are presented to the court and are contested.

Can I get my maiden name back?

At the final divorce proceeding a woman, over the age of 18, may be restored to her former name (not a new name she has never used before) as long as she requests to return to her former name in the divorce complaint or counterclaim and as long as she is present at the divorce hearing and testifies under oath that she is not seeking to be restored to her former name for any illegal, immoral or fraudulent purpose. Even if you did not do so during the divorce process, you can make a written request separately for up to 18 months after the final decree of absolute divorce.
