Preparing for the Iditarod? Ever wanted to go to Greenland? No worries, you can save your money And train for the most well known dog sled race - and all close to home!! This library is so cold, even the icicles have icicles. Unless they have Ötzi the Iceman in the basement, there is no reason to keep the library that cold in the middle of summer! I appreciate their providing refuge from the swampy, exhausting DC humidity and heat, but this is to the point that it is excessive. It’s a shame considering the environmental impact. Otherwise the study rooms are pretty nice and the staff is fantastic! Booking rooms online is a breeze. I do wish they had more of a collection in-building, but I get the impression this was intended to be more a workspace than traditional library. The building inside is pretty cool and modern, very comfortable. Sending a supportive shoutout to our local librarians, thank you for all that you do! We appreciate you :)

Temporarily changed after assurances one of two ridiculous issues at Chevy Chase Library on Connecticut Ave will be resolved for other public libraries in DC.

Very clean, nice and accessible community meeting spaces, and good facilities for the public from reading areas to public bathrooms.

Along Cleveland Park's Main Street, this library is well-designed with lots of natural light pouring in. Here's what sticks out: 1) Books for sale: On the ground floor is a little corner where books are sold for $1-$2. 2) Balconies: There are two balconies with tables and chairs on the second floor. One of them looks out onto the Main Street. 3) Kids section: On the first floor, it's an entire section with hundreds of books. 4) Public art: There's a panda sculpture and a mural outside the library.

Ask a friendly DCPL librarian. They're very helpful.
On 1/4/2022 ~noon they only had the 15 minutes tests.
I believe that they don't sell book or DVD there. But I am not sure.
Compound complex answer. Best bet is to call and ask. Some county libraries have reciprocity agreements with DC some do not. And some locations in Montgomery County don't even share with the rest of the county. When in doubt, call
As of April 2019 they just started accepting donations again. They can take about a box at a time as they have limited storage. They will sell these books to benefit the libraries programs.
