Small town bank that does not care, and then lies. I needed a document notarized, so I went to my local Ameris branch in Melrose, Forida. I waited patiently for no one to greet me for 10 minutes. When finally acknowledged, I explained that I needed a document notarized. I was asked if I had an account and I responded that I did. The teller then asked to see the documents to be notarized and exclaimed "We dont notarize legal court documents" I asked why would they not certify a signature and she then stated that "I might have to go testify in court"......... I researched what the woman told me and guess what? Nowhere in the regulation does it state that the notary is responsible for the content of the document. If you didn't like the way I looked, or the polite way I spoke to you, or you were just too lazy to be bothered by notarizing something, then be honest instead of lying to me.

Although what brought me to Ameris Bank was a tragedy in the family the staff and bank was supportive and are helping to deal with the issues.
