I made a mistake with choosing this location and physician! I booked an appointment online for the next morning and received an email stating that I’d receive a follow up email if the request is granted. Fast forward to the next morning, I hadn’t received an email and had already started looking for an alternative. I then receive an email at 8:50am letting me know that my 9am appointment was confirmed. I had to immediately stop what I was doing and rush out the door. I mentioned this during my check in process and it was brushed off and never addressed. The physician I was scheduled with was Dr. Jeanne Bernat. This was my first and last interaction with her as I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! She entered the room and didn’t even have a seat. Within about 5 seconds of me showing her my issue, she already had a diagnosis. No additional questions were asked, no testing suggested to confirm the diagnosis, nothing. Her bedside manner was nonexistent. She was cold, short, and rushed the appointment. I did not feel heard or cared for. She left out the room came back and asked me questions from my medical history from 2018. I was then told that I had to have labs drawn because I hadn’t had any since 2020, which is not correct. My insurance requires an annual physical including bloodwork so that my premiums will not increase. I have been a patient with Avance Care (Oberlin location) for more than 5 years and I’ve consistently had my physicals done. I made an appointment with this location/doctor out of convenience but if this is the level of service rendered I will not be returning. My entire appointment (including the unnecessary labs) took every bit of 10mins. Also, no instructions regarding the medication prescribed were given nor was any pertinent info provided on prevention, treatment, follow up care, etc. I felt like an irrelevant inconvenience. Please do not make the same mistake I made or you’ll leave feeling worst than when you entered.

Every negative review is true!!! If I could give zero stars, I would. First of all, when I came to the clinic, there was no one at the reception. So I stood there and waited. Then they were so quick to charge me, but not so quick to provide adequate medical service. I had an impression that the provider did not really know what my problem was. Thank God, I didn't listen to them and didn't wait 10 more days but actually went to a specialist to have my ear checked. I could've lost my hearing if I had waited 10 days taking useless antibiotics!!! I paid $100 upfront at Avance care and I need to pay more, but I wonder what I'm paying for?!! I didn't receive any help!!!! AVANCE CARE NEVER AGAIN IN MY LIFE!!!!
