Such a wonderful place! The service is efficient. Great place for Vegans with limited selection. The place itself is inviting with a cool Oakland vibe. The Vegan Breakfast Burrito was one of the best I've had around. Clean tasting without all the goop and messiness of most I've had. The green machine smoothie add strawberries was delicious. The breve latte was one of the best in the areas if not best. The Buddha Bowl is packed with fresh and Tasty. What a special gem of a place. Prices seemed to be a couple of dollars less than other upscale cafes.

This place was so disappointing. I was happy to see that they had so many vegan options, but a closer look at their menu and most things marked vegan are not vegan. This menu needs to be updated so that vegan items are marked properly. This place has a lot of potential to be vegan friendly but fails in many ways. The chickpea tofu is a weird, grainy, flavorless slab, I don't know why they don't just use regular tofu or chickpeas for those items. They have homemade cashew cheese sauce which was good, but not on many items. It's like they want to have vegan options but then just don't know how to execute them. Tried the vegan bahn mi and vegan breakfast burrito both were strange in flavor and lacking flavor at the same time. The avocado "toast"-it was just on bread, not toast. I appreciate the quick response from the owner, and may come back to try in the future. But the fact remains that an item with both meat and cheese was labeled vegan, the chilequiles with tots, this was one of many items that have animal products but are labeled vegan. Additionally nearly no humans are carnivores the word you are looking for is omnivore.

nope. that was a different cafe.
You do have to go a few steps inside to order at the counter, but masks are required and they even have a hand washing station just inside the door.
