Beautiful small church. We had my mother's funeral service here. Priest was very monotone and bless her heart, the lady singing was average at best.

My family has belonged to Saint Matthews since it first opened. My mom passed away recently and is buried in the cemetery. We decorate her grave for holidays with flowers or small garden holiday flags. Nothing large or intrusive. The cemetery committee continues to take the decorations off of her grave. They have taken pinwheels off of children’s graves as well as flags with lost loved ones faces on them. My dad has met with the cemetery committee and they basically said tough we are going to continue to remove items as they see fit. They take solar lights off graves even though there is nothing against this in the rules. I find the cemetery committee to be very uncaring to grieving families and unsupportive. My family has since left the church.

There is a Catholic cemetery here. They made choosing a plot and other arrangements easy.

Very nice, smaller parish in Durham. Family friendly. Lots of ways to get involved and participate. Beautiful campus.
