I received my EMA oral appliance 8 months ago and it has changed my energy level. I am no longer too exhausted to function since my oxygen levels have increased during sleep (confirmed via follow up sleep study). The staff has always been kind and respectful. They are thorough and will answer all of your concerns.

I'm living out of state, and have tried different doctors to help with my TMJ issues, but none of them is helpful or I feel I could trust. I found The Center for Sleep Apnea & TMJ online and was very impressed by the videos on their website showing the unique service they provide to help with different problems and explaining what options they could do. After the first virtual appointment with Dr. Kuehne, I flew all the way to the Boise to have the treatment. Everyone at the office was very friendly and helpful. I'm so grateful to both Dr. Kuehne and his assistant Christy for the wonderful treatment and care during my three days' stay in Boise. Both of them are so professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I feel they truly care about me and spent time answering all my questions and explaining everything with patience and kindness. I really appreciate all their hard work to help me with my unlocking procedure and try to make the perfect splints for me before I leave. I'm so very grateful for all their help and care! I definitely recommend their team to everyone!

This office needs to be investigated for unethical (possibly illegal) billing practices. Rose Mary in the billing department has refused to return my calls or emails, after double billing myself and my insurance! The gals in the SLC office pretend to know nothing regarding billing, until you start questioning things. Then all of a sudden they know exactly how it should be charged. I was told I had self bill my insurance, but in doing so they would charge me a higher cost than someone who was paying cash. However if I am self-billing my insurance then as far their office is concerned I am paying them cash! So I paid the higher cash price to submit to my own insurance for reimbursement only to find out they actually billed my insurance as well and now have my money that I paid as well as the money from insurance. I have not received a call or email for over 3 months. Spoke to my referring dentist and he was appalled and will no longer be referring here.

Great Listeners - So good at listening!! I couldn’t believe how well everyone heard and clarified my discussion. Seriously! If you want to be heard, and have a successful result - this is the place. The receptionist/assistants/administrators are all exemplary people, in their positions. I arrived with a dislocated jaw - popped behind the cartilage. Couldn’t open my mouth or chew my food. My noshing has returned in full force!

Hi Florence, dental devices for sleep apnea tend to work mainly for obstructive apnea. Having said that, we have had a couple dozen cases now with patients that have had a mixture of obstructive and central sleep apnea (this type of apnea is due to the brain forgetting to tell the body to breathe) that have seen improvement with a dental device. Our theory is that as we improve the obstructive portion of the apnea and the breathing improves, that the central then also improves (basically the brain starts telling the body to breathe).
