Amico's New York Pizza

Last night, my partner and I continued our search for a replacement pizza spot close to home since our favorite place closed. Though this spot is not within walking distance like the last by any stretch, it's closer than downtown Nashville! We agreed that we need to put them in regular rotation because they're just so good. We arrived around 7:15, which is a little late for us for dinner, but we were seated right away. The restaurant is in a strip mall that's hilariously right across the street from the building to which my hair salon just moved and right down the road from one of my favorite breakfast spots. Nolensville is really a great little area! Almost immediately after being seated, our server took our drink orders and we received bread. Not only was it a welcome sight because I was so hungry (we ate really late haha), but it was also delicious! The very crisp crust hid a quite soft interior, and the garlic butter was plentiful (even a pool of butter/oil at the bottom of the bowl in case you wanted to dip... And I did). Though they don't have seltzers, they do have wine (I got a glass of cab sav) and Blue Moons for my partner. That's a win for both of us! We got one of each. For an appetizer, we ordered the calamari and WOW. This is not a little appetizer for 2 people. This appetizer is huge and would be enough for 4-6 people as an appetizer. Of course, we love calamari and were hungry, so we ripped through the whole plate! It was perfectly cooked and crispy. It was also seasoned wonderfully (I did squeeze the lemon over the whole plate, just to be clear). When our giant pizza arrived, we laughed knowing that we'd be taking most of it home. We had no idea how huge the portion of calamari would be, and we killed those 4 garlic rolls like they were going out of style, so we only ate 2 slices, but WOW. This pizza is on point. It's crisp but foldable. Its toppings are balanced and plentiful. The flavor and chew are great. Honestly, one of the best pizzas I've had in a LONG time. I also have to mention service here. Superb. Great timing, well executed, and great personality. I believe her name was Libby. She should be given some kudos, as she was just a lot of fun. It's great when a server adds laughter to the table. We'll definitely be seeing the crew of Amico's again! **A note for those who may know I tend to go GF to avoid barley. I was NOT careful last night, and my stomach does not hate me this morning. I did not see anything gluten free on the menu, but I wasn't looking this time.

Hands down the very best pizza in town. It is truly like pizza by husband used have in NY. It is the most authentic Italian food tucked away in this small strip mall and we have tried most of our favorite things and loved them. Only the best Italian places can make a good egglpant parm and theirs is wonderful! It is small - so look at the crowded and busy times, it is such a typical local Italian restaurant... the wines much like you would expect...basic table wines but pair good with Italian food! Large or actually very large portions so order accordingly and watch out for the garlic bread because it is addicting. Wonderful group of people - staff could not be more friendly - It is just our kind of place and makes my husband feel like he is back in New York... They also do take out and nothing changes with the quality there as well... It is a always on the short list!!!

Nice and quiet place. Pizza are bigger than what they appeared. Could not finish my Pizza GIA . Nice pizza dough is really good toppings could have been slightly more spicy or have the option to have chili flakes or hot olive oil. All in all good experience
