This was my first time making funeral arrangements for anyone, let alone my father who although had taken care of most of the preneed financial arrangements, did not personally give me any instructions while he was alive. I was afraid of getting pressured to do this or that but the staff acted out of compassion first and foremost, and patiently answered all my many questions. I am forever grateful that staff made a difficult situation as straightforward as possible. I was scared to look at my embalmed father but they did a wonderful job using the reference photos and I was touched to be able to view him for the final time. My relatives were also high-maintenance and caused minor drama but I felt better when staff continued to treat us with compassion.

I had a positive experience, and the staff was very respectful. Yes, funeral costs are high, but that kind of is what it is. The most important thing is to respect our loved ones in a kind and professional way, and De Young helped me do that. Thanks to all of you.

My wise mother had previously made all of her funeral arrangements through DeYoung’s so everything was already in place. The staff treated my dad and me with dignity and concern throughout the arrangements, especially from our funeral arranger Maelien. My wife and I will soon be making our own funeral arrangements through DeYoung’s because this experience has demonstrated for me that DeYoung’s truly cares about us as individuals.
