Looking at other reviews specific to cats, there's something weird going on with how they're treated. Took our cat in a while ago and she came back with several issues. She looked disheveled and traumatized, and most problematic was that she had a large laceration on her face, which when asked was apparently from her "rubbing her face against something". This didn't heal for a few months. I hope someone is monitoring whoever watches the cats there. Update: Their staff has been really good with our dog lately so I'm updating specifically for that. In regards to the injury my cat received there, that was probably while in the watch of a staff member from years ago/we just don't risk taking our cat there anymore.

The lady we left the dogs with was sweet and friendly. The lady who threatened to keep my dogs because there was a billing error on their end was much less so. She didn't give me an update on how my dogs were when she handed them to me. One had diarrhea, looked considerably skinnier and lost around four pounds. No one told me she was having issues for the entire week that I was gone. The other has terrible fear of his kennel when there were no issues before. I didn't get any of their toys or bedding back. Management was unhelpful, offered no sympathy, and practically admitted to being scared to deal with older staff. Seems like an unhealthy work dynamic in the back office. Manager happily offered to have the owner call us and discuss the issues we had. That call never happened. Many Yelp reviews had the same complaints. I really wanted to like this place, but it seems Santa Cruz and Salinas have much better options.

Great place. We were on vacation and placed our dog there for a few hours and a couple of days. The people there were very nice and accommodating. We will definitely go back on our next visit to Monterey.

Great daycare experience when our family wanted to go to the aquarium and our pups could stay really close
