We visited Blue Moon as a last minute decision on our final night in the Outer Banks. The food was delicious and there are a decent number of local beers on tap as well as unique cocktails to try. I would recommend arriving a little before the dinner hour to get a table, as we were able to beat the crowd by coming at 5. There is quite a bit of seating inside and outside but it does fill up quickly. Service was great and the food was delicious. I highly recommend trying the Buffalo shrimp, which was a delicious twist on a classic wing appetizer. The fish tacos are pretty good, although they could have used a bit more seasoning.

OMG! The food portion is huge! My friend got the Wednesday special salad & I got the 1/3lb. Prime... yes, Prime burger! Also had a couple glasses of wine, delicious! Highly enjoined the experience & Ben the bartender is awesome & polite! Just fantastic! Another awesome meal in OBX!!

Went with my fiancée, I ordered the daily special a blackened salmon, she ordered their bouillabaisse. The food was fresh and cooked well. Enjoyed our time there. Overall: a bit pricey (although the drinks were very fairly priced actually) but good atmosphere, service, and food.

Not too long of a wait, 30 min approx. Worth it! Party of 3 adults and 2 children. Regular faire for the kids. Buffalo shrimp were just right, not too hot and tasty. Scallops were wonderful, could have had more than 4. Mahi BLT was very good and the Pulled pork....well let's just say the plate was clean.

We do not have a happy hour. Actually, ABC regulations do not allow it in the state of North Carolina. We do have drink specials that will be available for lunch and dinner, as well as food specials.

No reservations. No pagers either but texting to your phone. We got a drink and stood near the bar and when seats opened at the bar we took them. Full service.
We are closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. Open 11:30 - 9 all other days. Our website and Facebook page will post any closings.
We are at 50% capacity with social distancing. Masks are required when not eating/drinking. We offer outdoor dining, weather permitting. All employees are wearing masks. Thank you.

We will! We stay open all year long. We will close at some point for about a week for maintenance, but have not set a date yet. February is our 10 year anniversary so we will not close in February. Cheers! UPDATE: Hi Richard- Change of plans... We actually are going to close 2/3/19-2/6/19 for improvements. We will be back open at 4 PM on 2/7. It was the only time we could lineup all the work to be done.

We do not. Only during shedding season as a special which is typically around Mother's Day full moon. We only use fresh. You may find frozen somewhere...
Yes… and No. If we are not on a wait, we will happily take to-go orders. However, when the restaurant is busy and on a wait, we will not take any to-go orders. All of our meals are made to order and our kitchen is tiny. We want the customers who are dining with us to have the best experience possible. If they have waited a long time to be seated, we think it is only fair that they are served hot food in a timely manner. To-Go orders only slow our kitchen down. If you have not dined with us before, we strongly encourage you to come in and get the full “blue moon experience”. We only get one chance to make a first impression and would prefer it not to be in a take-out box.

No reservations. A table for 2 is about 20-30 minutes. We stopped in around 6:30 pm needing a table for 6 and the expected wait was 90 minutes. We just came back around 5 pm the next evening and was seated right away.
