No it feels like a consistent rubber snap on your skin...but the nurse Judy applies frozen towels to numb your skin. You can also have her apply numbing cream and wait 1 1/2hrs before your treatment. Great service and Judy is such a caring lady.
I know Judy has 2 different machines. 1 is slightly more cost than the other. Hope this helps
