Transferring from a big office that looked like an assembly line of dental chairs to a smaller office, I felt special. I wasn’t rushed or made to feel like I shouldn’t ask questions. The gadgets and technology they have are amazing! Staff communicate well and are kind, professional. Dr Sreis is great!

Dr. Sami Sreis is very good. He considers patient's views and lays out all the treatment options. The implant and bone grafting process was done with great care and attention. The staff, particularly Margarita Diaz and George, were extremely professional and welcoming. Margarita went through the treatment options and explained everything in great detail.

Speaking from someone who is always having anxiety issues when it comes to the dentist...unfortunate past experiences. These guys have crafted a relational community that not only calms the nerves but allows you to feel at peace in the middle of bigger operations (like implants) as well. Love these guys and I most definitely refer people to them.

TLC Dentistry | Mar 28, 2022

In many cases, yes! Implants are often used to secure a denture, which helps you speak more clearly, eat without discomfort, and avoid embarrassing slips. Contact us to confirm if you're a candidate for an implant-retained denture in Salinas, CA: https://www.tlcdentistry.com/contact/

How long does a dental implant procedure take?

TLC Dentistry | Mar 28, 2022

On average, getting a dental implant takes three to nine months. This includes removing the existing tooth (if needed), surgically placing the implant, allowing the bone to heal and fuse with the implant, and creating and placing the implant restoration (crown, bridge, or denture). To find out how long your treatment might take, contact us for a consultation: https://www.tlcdentistry.com/contact/

When should I consider dental implants?

TLC Dentistry | Mar 28, 2022
TLC Dentistry | Mar 28, 2022

A dental implant is an excellent choice for replacing a missing, broken, or severely decayed tooth. It's the only restoration that'll replace an entire tooth from root to crown. This helps to make the implant look, feel, and function like a real tooth. No one will notice! Contact us to book a dental implants consultation.

What causes periodontal diseases?

TLC Dentistry | Mar 28, 2022
TLC Dentistry | Mar 28, 2022

Poor oral hygiene. But more specifically, plaque is the primary cause of periodontal disease. Plaque is a buildup of harmful bacteria and acids. When this plaque isn't removed due to poor oral hygiene and/or avoiding professional dental cleanings, it hardens and turns into calculus. This causes gingivitis, an irritation and inflammation of your gums. If left untreated, gingivitis turns into periodontitis, causing pockets between your teeth and gums that fill with bacteria. Contact us if you're due for a cleaning or think you have periodontal disease.

What is the difference between plaque and calculus?

TLC Dentistry | Mar 28, 2022
TLC Dentistry | Mar 28, 2022

When plaque isn't removed (often caused by a lack of brushing or visiting the dentist for a cleaning), it hardens and turns into calculus. Another word for calculus is tartar. Unlike plaque, tartar cannot be removed by brushing or flossing. It's strongly bonded onto your teeth and must be removed by a dental hygienist. Otherwise, it may lead to tooth decay (cavities) and gum diseases.

Do I need a root canal?

TLC Dentistry | Mar 28, 2022
TLC Dentistry | Mar 28, 2022

A root canal is necessary when the inside of your tooth becomes infected or damaged. If left untreated, the infection will spread, increasing your risk for additional dental problems, painful symptoms, and overall health issues. Signs you need a root canal include severe tooth pain or sensitivity, discoloration, swelling or tenderness of the nearby gums, and bumps on your gums. You may also experience no symptoms at all. To see if you need a root canal, contact us for an appointment: https://www.tlcdentistry.com/contact/
