We were able to hike from our location to get a great view of Lake Tahoe. This portion of the trail was not strenuous for us. We met other day hikers, bikers and overnighted, all friendly!

Great trail, weather is a huge factor so check before you bike/hike.

Not the greatest views if you're looking for the lake. Lots of tree canopy but the trail was well maintained. Starts off with increasing elevation so plan accordingly for a moderate hike.

I would call the Tahoe rim trail association office. They would know the best places for you to park long-term.

There are several different forks on the Tahoe Rim Trail. Some of them are moderate to hard in places. A slow and steady pace you might be alright. There are also some paved trails near the golf course.
