The Chemung County courthouse, Clerks Office, and District Attorney's office are housed in this historic well kept building. There is no elevator but there are wheelchair ramps to the first floor of these buildings.

I would leave zero stars if I could. We've had a family Court case going on for a year now, the other party and his attorney don't show up and instead of doing the right thing and dismissing the case with cause and with prejudice they let it continue. They allow for individuals to be harassed and do nothing about it. The magistrate Mattson does not give anyone the chance to speak and when they do he looks at them like they are idiots, we'll let me tell you what. BOW TIES WENT OUT OF STYLE WITH THE 60'S. and don't get me started and the Other corrupt Judge.

Mimi Tarantelli is extremely close minded and is more concerned with "parental rights" than the actual welfare of the child. I find it hard to respect anything that comes out of her mouth let alone what she writes down in official court orders. She completely ignores factual evidence and is grossly negligent as a judge on the bench. She should be required to study basic psychology before making any decision on how much time a child should spend with either parent. After speaking to many others who have gone before her, she CLEARLY has an agenda going on to "crusade for fathers" which on the surface is a fine attitude to have but when each case is not looked at independently and she simply rules in favor of dad every time, that's called corruption. Also, a majority of the local attorneys are basically in bed with the family court system and it seems to be more "annoying" to all of them to deal with these real life cases than actually caring about the children involved. So many kids fall through the cracks in this community and the court system should be held more accountable.
