Dropped my boat off for service. (I worked as a service advisor at a dealership for 8 years so I know what questions to ask and what I want done). Was told it would take a week. Was done in a week. Looked over the work done everything looked great I had them keep all the old parts not to insure that they were replaced but to to see how bad the old parts were. I have a I/O so had All bellows, impeller, gimbal bearing, trim sensors, serpentine belt, fuel filter, cable, water hose, outdrive oil hose and metal anodes replaced with a few little parts I will replace for $2700. From doing research this is what I was expecting to pay compared to a 200 mile radius. I wish they would of informed to me how the drive shaft looked but not really the end of the world, looking at it will not tell you the whole story anyways. I have not put it in the water yet so review is subject to change. My boat has a very common drive and engine so parts were easy or already in stock. If your boat is brand new with issues or an oddball don’t be surprised if parts are difficult to get and repair time increases. Again was happy with service no damage was done to the boat. Returned in better shape I left it, the cover was back on the boat snapped down. Will use Thayer Marine again in the future.
