The people there are friendly and over worked. Still every one seems to go out of their way to help you as much as possible. Awesome place Awesome people.

Questions & Answers

I have several twin size flannel sheets/pillow cases in excellent condition to donate. Do you accept them?

Laurie Myer | Jan 27, 2022
Catholic Charities of Tompkins | Jan 27, 2022

Yes, we will be glad for donations of sheets and towels. But we aren't accepting clothes at this time, since we have so much. You can drop them off Tues-Fri, 9:00-12:00 or 1:00-3:30pm. Our address is 324 West Buffalo St in Ithaca. Many thanks for thinking of Catholic Charities and the people we serve.

We have been giving away winter outerwear for several weeks. This coming Tuesday we'll have the regular items in our free clothing closet but we still have lots of hats and other winter items available. Lots of women's coats, not a whole lot of kid's coats. It's always best to have an appointment because we limit the number of people allowed in at any one time due to covid Please give a call at 607-272-5062, then press 1 then press 17.

I have a large amount of men's clothing from a person's estate to donate. Items are clean and on white plastic hangers. May I bring them in on the hangers or must they be packed in boxes? Thank you.

hi John, I'm so sorry to have to refuse your kind offer. We are stuffed with clothing donations and don't have much storage space so aren't accepting any clothing at this point. I would suggest donating them to Thrifty Shopper and/or Salvation Army stores, across from each other on route 13 in Ithaca, and/or Re-Use Tompkins, which has several locations in ithaca. All are set up to deal with large amounts of donations and all support very good causes. Many thanks for thinking of our agency. Do stay well!

I just arrived here a couple months ago. Mom's 80 and my payee in long island ny.how do I go about getting catholic charities to take over?and are they a good choice here in ithaca?daniel.

I absolutely will not have adult protective services or mental health be my rep. Been through that before and it was very stressful. The process it's actually easy I've had 4 payees through the years, I just need to find the payee do some paper work and signature's mom closes my bank account after taking out my saved money and I release her as payee

Hello! I would like to know if I would be eligible to get a bed and boxspring or a referral? Also I have orientation for a job on Thursday yet I need new shoes for the job. Is it possible they will give me a voucher to get the shoes.

Our friends gave you some good advice, Samantha, before we even had a chance. :) We are glad to have people make an appointment or stop in Tuesday-Friday between 9am and 11:45am or 1pm and 3:30pm. We can often help with these kinds of issues, or at least refer people to assistance.
