Took my lady there last October for our anniversary. I was so embarassed afterward. M&S used to be my favorite restaurant in KC, I was in awe of how wondeful it was, but I suppose that was a long long time ago. We shared the most ridiculous, underhanded, and pathetic food experience either of us have ever witnessed. Just for a taste of what we experienced -- after waiting an almost literal eternity for our main courses, she was served either someone else's return plate or a dish that had been sitting all day. Hard, corpse-like tuna and slimy, wilted greens. It was disgusting. Everything was disgusting and terrible. The food, the "service," the drinks. We were so exhausted by the the end we just accepted the comp on her main course and didn't contest the rest of the $150. I'm not kidding, we were exhausted by hunting down staff, by waiting, by trying to figure out who our server was at any given time. It ruined our night. We were stuck there for 2 hours. We drove home to Lawrence and vowed we'd never give our business to anything associated with the corporation that bought this once glorious chain.

Pretty pricey, but nice vibes for sure. Sides could use some work on the entrees.

Everything was fine, but not remarkable.

Amazing service for my anniversary. Elegant but laid back with amazing food and beverage collection.

The COVID measures in place at M&S on The Plaza are pretty much the same as any other eat-in restaurant at this time. A mask is required to enter and move around the restaurant. Servers are masked and seating is expanded out to provide distance from other tables. Of course ordering for pick up is always an option if you are worried about open air exposure. There is a small patio but it is not an option for dining. I believe they are doing as much cleaning as possible, like any other place, to help reduce the germ factor. However, nothing is guaranteed for anyone anywhere. But when you go, order the bisque!! 😉
Yes when weather permits
Yes. This restaurant is wholly owned by Fertita. I doubt whether Fertita gives anyone he employs a day off on a holiday. He is one of those employers that does not pay people extra for working holidays either.
When I was there, there were all forms of clothing, but wouldn't you want to look good, at a fancy place? I didn't wear a jacket, but had a button up.
I believe that you can.
They are open 365 days a year, but I would HIGHLY recommend making a reservation well ahead of time for any holidays!
They do.
No
3 piece suit cumberbund monicle and tophat for him. For her, anything short of being a wedding dress. 😉😁
I certainly would get reservations. Its going to be busy.
No but there there is covered parking directly behind the restaurant and we have never had a problem finding a place. It is very convenient.
3:30 PM to 6:00 PM
