Nice cute little rest area. Like a mini sized rest area. Semi truck parking is on the tight side and small building and small washroom. Nice landscaping as well as good number of shelters with tables. Nice place to stop hit the washroom and take a few minutes for a break and a stretch. Because there were only 3 toilet stalls I did have a wait , but not long. Place does have vending machines on case you need a drink or snack. Good location and good spacing between the previous rest area and the distance to the next one.

Nice place to stop. I’ll come here again if I happen to be on a long trip. I’m glad that the restrooms were clean so there really is no reason not to stop here.

I was walking through the picnic area with my 2 and 4 year old and we all fell over when I stepped in a hole at least a foot deep and foot wide. This is not ok!

The times I have been at Illini Prairie rest stop it has been open both North and southbound. Don't know why they would be closed.
They let trucks park overnight so I believe you can park your car overnight as well. No guarantee that it won't be broken into though.
Why, didn't u ask one of the workers? It should be a number around there somewhere as a point of contact information.
Contact the IL State Police District 10. Their office is in Pesotum, just passed the rest stop.
