Shady business practices - be careful! I’m really saddened I even have to write this review, but considering how much money a wedding dress is, I just don’t want this to happen to anyone else. A couple months ago, I said yes to the dress at LBR - super happy with my experience at this point. I was told my wedding dress would take 6-9 months to arrive, which is no problem cause my wedding is a year and 3 months away at that point. To my surprise, I get an email saying my dress arrived 2 months after I said yes. I make an appointment to pick up my dress, and when I go to pay for the remaining amount, I see they tacked on a $300 “rush fee”. Confused, I tell them I did not consent to a rush fee as there was no need to rush my dress. The consultant calls the manager and the manager tries to tell me that I told them my wedding was in 3 months, hence why a rush fee was accessed. Knowing I never told them this and knowing I keep good record of every large purchase, I show them my original receipt where it clearly says 10/6/2023 and no mention of a $300 rush fee. Their copy was reflecting 10/6/2022 and a $300 rush fee. So, the fact that they switched up the information in their system AFTER I had said yes and put a deposit down is extremely shady. And even IF my wedding was in 3 months, a good business should be transparent when tacking on fees like that. I’m sure they were hoping I either trashed or deleted my receipt so I had no proof that I told them my wedding was a 1+ year away. Once I pulled out the receipt, the manager was quick to waive the fee, which is not commendable in my opinion, it was just what had to be done at that point, she was caught in her deception. Again, really upset that this was my experience when I was so excited to pick up my dream dress. LBR does have some of the best selection of wedding dresses in Chicago, so if you do choose this bridal shop, please keep good record of your purchases to ensure they don’t swindle you.

Awful customer service and communication. The store has a max guest limit of 4 people per bride, which is fine, but I wasn’t sure if there was any flexibility for minors (I wanted to bring my 9yo niece). The week leading up to my appointment, I had emailed, called, and left voicemails everyday to ask if bringing my niece would be an issue. I had appointments set up at a total of 4 stores that weekend, and LBR was the only one I never heard back from. The other stores were kind enough to accommodate my niece, so I figured we’d still bring her along. Unfortunately LBR is not as accommodating as other stores, and said my niece couldn’t stay. What made it even worse is that there was an empty bench in the front of the store, away from the fitting room area. I asked if my niece can even just sit on the bench, and they said no. I’d like to reiterate that this whole thing could’ve been avoided if they simply answered their phones, or responded to my voicemails and emails previously. They didn’t even take accountability for that, and just said “we make it clear in our confirmation email.” But the confirmation email also says to call or email if you have any questions. I had a question, called and emailed as instructed, and all it got me attitude, wasted time, and a niece with hurt feelings. This store has some of the lowest google ratings in the area, and now I know why.
