This place is legit! Locally sourced food with layers of flavor. Quaint atmosphere and great service!

When we moved to GR 9 years ago, this was one of the first restaurants a friend took us to. It was laid back, with a well put together menu, great food selections and portions, friendly staff, and all around good vibe. We have continued to visit multiple times a year. While the covered patio seating that can be enclosed has been a great addition, we have watched other things lose their luster. The inside has become less inviting, with what seems to be slightly less seating. It feels a bit “sterile” and cold. The menu has gotten smaller with less imagination behind it. Our food for the last visit was kind of the last straw, per say. We both ordered the shrimp and grits. It came out in a huge bowl with tons of grits, 5-6 small pieces of shrimp and a few pieces of sausage. It was a sad let down. We decided it will be a long while before we visit again. Paying $23 each for basically a bowl of grits was so disappointing. Hopefully we’ll be able to try again someday with a much better experience like we used to have.

Great service, good food. We went to this place while visiting family from Portland OR. It has a diverse menu with plenty for anyone in your party. We had a couple of little kids with us and were able to find plenty of options for them as well of us. I had the Bulgogi and was pleased with the quality of the ingredients and the portion size. My only complaint was that it had a little too much sauce so the rice was a little soupy. But otherwise it was a good dish. The others were pleased with their food so no other complaints. Our server was excellent, very efficient and professional. So all in all a great place to visit while in Grand Rapids.

Nice staff, super reasonable waits for food etc. Convenient Eastown location and good parking out back. Varied selection re food and drinks, but the food is a bit hit or miss. Great and popular fries, warm goat cheese app was popular at the table. Chicken tenders tended bit overdone. Burgers were pretty disappointing, esp at the price: beyond the char, lacking in flavor (seasoning), and unpalatable frequent connective tissue. At basically 100 for a table of 3, while I would pop in for a drink and an app, I don’t think its a compelling offering on quality versus price.

Yes
You don't need to dress up, but i would not go there in sweats. Then again, nobody should go anywhere in sweats.
Yes, there is a bar to the left and a dining area to the right where children friendly dining could happen.
