I have been dealing with doctors and pain management issues for the last 6 years due to a ongoing medical issue and this is the first time I have gave up and moved on from a practice due to lack of professionalism and outright incompetence. It is like they are completely detached from their patients. For instance, they recommended a evasive surgical procedure, which I asked my surgeon about and was told that surgery would not work for my problem. I relayed that information to PPP. THE SAME DOCTORS recommended that same procedure 2 MORE TIMES even though they were told multiple times it would not work for me. That was one of many issues I have had with PPP in Santa Barbara. I would not reccomend this place to my worst enemy

Most of the staff is friendly and helpful with an extra shout out to a few staff members who really go above and beyond, firstly Marissa at the front desk! She is unbelievably friendly and kind and will always help you with whatever you need. She is bubbly and has great energy! Also Mary who takes care of prescriptions and stuff! She is always friendly and kind and ready to help you figure out what’s happening with your Rx stuff. She is super awesome! The doctors that I have met with are all really great and nice too. The only problem that I have run into is follow through with some of the PAs not following through on getting your new Rx to your pharmacy in a timely manner. And they have problems communicating sometimes. Sometimes the arc that you end up getting is not the one that you discussed with them in person. Which leads to major complications with insurance and pharmacy stuff. So the staff is 3 star average, with a select couple that are totally 5 stars! And the PAs get maybe 4 stars for kind and helpful with sub average follow through. The docs are great, so they get 5 stars! Overall, it’s a great place. And it’s probably the best pain center I’ve been too yet. Which is saying a lot, because I’ve been to about 6 different ones now. Also, a ton of the patients that go through the pain center are horrible, crotchety, grumpy, and our mean. Or they are junkies looking for drugs. There are not that many patients that are kind and gentle and compassionate. So if you catch a staff member that’s in a bad mood, it’s totally likely that they have had to deal with horrible patients all day long. So give them a break if you can!

Pacific Pain employees are wonderful. All the girls in the front office are compassionate , kind and very professional. I would recommend Pacific Pain to my family and friends. Jamie and Matt are totally considerate to all of your needs.

Great doctors, horrible patient care and office staff. Despite the good work of doctors I cannot recommend this office. If you are in pain, seek help elsewhere. You will spend hours on hold, months waiting for insurance approval, and likely be spoken to in uncomfortable or rude ways by office staff. This is not an anomaly, I have been going to this office and receiving procedures from these doctors for 2 years. I have excellent insurance. But on almost every occasion of needing a procedure the office staff has made mistakes so insurance wouldn’t approve my procedures. In one case, they forgot to submit it completely. I would see the doctors and they would say “ok schedule the rhizotomy” and while I was in a pain scale of 7/10 the office staff took over 2 months on 2 occasions to figure out the approval. If you are living with pain and want relief— this is not the place for you.

The injections helped my dad for 2 weeks but nothing more. Now a dr alli put a stumminator on his back but it is not doing well either. The doctors told us that the pills are very addictive. We are going to talk to Dr.pires to see if there is anything else we can do

Is there way to alleviate head pain from an arthritic neck (spine) other than a nerve block injection?

Sandy Grasso-Boyd | Sep 25, 2019

Not that I'm aware of. I've had 3 nerve blocks done 2 on my lower back and 2 on my neck at c2 and c3 for chronic headaches and pain . The injections took all my pain away and last about 3 months to a year. In 59 with chronic spinal conditions.
