Very fun place, however, it gets busy quickly. We got there around 10:00, several boats were already there. Left around three, and between six people, we had found around 70 sharks teeth, as well as some other fossils. Highly recommend going here, but you'll need a boat to get out to the island.

Yes. We swim and ski in that area. It is a private island that requires the purchase of a permit. You can usally do this while on the island.
No gift shop. You have to get in touch with the owners. And no there is usually no mosquitos but nats come out in the evenings sometimes Usually there is a nice breeze that keeps them away. Beautiful place to go for relaxation. If you want to speak to an owner I can give your number for them to call you about pricing.

I've not heard of being able to buy a permit online. You should just go and wait for the care keeper to walk by in his boots and hand you an application!
Couple of times over the summer... Would go more, but it takes a boat to get there and it's my friend's boat...
You have to pay for membership to get to the island
