We’re visiting from out of state and stopped in the library on our first day here. I’m so glad we did! This library and the staff—especially Susan at the main desk and Marge in the children’s section—is so welcoming to tourists and it’s residents. They helped us find books that related to our upcoming activities, gave great advice and ideas to enhance our trip, and gave us a heads up on the library’s plans for while we were in town (scavenger hunt, llama ornament making, marshmallow snow man building, gingerbread house crafting, and so on). The library is divided down the center. Upon entering, children’s is on your left, adult on your right. New releases, periodicals, newspapers, and the circulation desk split the two sections down the middle. The library is well lit and welcoming. There are several places to relax and read. I spent more time in the children’s section but the adult area is well shelved, both fiction and nonfiction. The children’s area had crafts available, picture book shelves at the right height for little ones, with a display that showed covers more than spines. They have an impressive graphic novel section— from history, science, classic retellings to marvel universe and top selling middle grade favorites. Marge,the juvenile librarian, had crafts and activities for every age group. Just to put into perspective how good of a fit she seemed to be: she received a job offer while I was standing there and without asking any questions, simply replied that she belonged in this library’s children’s section. It spoke volumes. Other details; very clean, great parking along the back of the building—which backs up to a park! What a great place to visit. Local library patrons have such a gem in this library!

Super nice little park behind the library, an open shower if you decide to take a dip, watch out for gators. You can put in kayaks and paddle boards if yo like. Nice covered tables to have a picnic and clean bathrooms.
