My daughter just revealed to me in the last week that her teacher (4yr olds) used to shame her if she didn't know the answer. In front of everyone she would say "oh, (childs name) wants to be a baby forever" and she said that this teacher said it all the time. We knew something was going on because she wasn't herself there, she wasn't thriving. So we took her out. She is in a school with a teacher now that she is thriving. Shame on her for shaming my daughter.

UPDATE: I was happy to see that all of my concerns were addressed as soon as my son returned to school from being sick. The director made sure to contact me when his temperature was even elevated, the notes home became more specific about what he ate and foods that he might like for the next day. We were re-added to the classroom platform and they did a great job of regularly posting pictures of the kids during the day, and they helped my son feel welcome and included. I also really appreciated the variety of activities they do with the kids each day and the different toys they exposed him to. So at this point, because they were so receptive to addressing my concerns and because my son genuinely seemed to enjoy his time there, I would now say that I would recommend this preschool. Past Post (3 weeks earlier): So far I've been a bit disappointed in our experience at the preschool. My son came home with a 103 degree fever but I was not alerted to a fever developing during the day. When I asked the director about it, I was quoted the health department protocol but it felt more like defensiveness than wanting to rectify the situation or even address the concerns of a parent. My son also did not eat anything one day but his go-home packet said he ate everything. Details matter when you're caring for someone's child. Finally, when I mentioned to the director that I was considering pulling my son because of my previously mentioned concerns but that I would talk to my husband to make a final decision, I discovered my son was inactivated in his classroom. That seemed quite premature. I have three more weeks at the daycare so if the experience improves, I'll update my commentary.

Both of my kids attended HSLCP. The staff is kind and truly cares about their students. Safe and clean environment. The church does many different events throughout the year and welcome the public. Such a sweet preschool
