Always my favorite place. I enjoy the outdoor seating next to the creek. Love the home made jelly and biscuits. Great food. I’ve been coming here all my life, even as a young boy passing with my skate board when Ruth was around.

If it is happening during the week, you should be fine. There are very few people out there during the week. Weekends you will have a bit more of a challenge.
Yes, will need to speak with management about reserving a spot. Also look around for a great spot to host the baby shower as there are quite a few some big and small. To be honest lots of mosquitos during this summer season so be prepared.
The garden part is free and open to the public. If you need to reserve a pinic bench or event area you need to make a reservation online which may cost money.
I've never seen it closed, even when Google claims it is closed. Like someone else said, I think it's just one of the facilities that they close.
