Dirty and extremely run down. You can smell the mold. It's the kind of place that makes you want to take a shower.....anywhere else! In other reviews the owner defends this by calling the hotel a budget hotel, and/or rustic. It's just dirty. There's a difference. This is a one star hotel. I only gave it 2 stars because the staff members were all so nice.

I stayed here for my daughter dance competition and I wished I had read the reviews first. I just read that the owner said the carpets were only 7 years old. This is a complete lie . The carpets, hallway, room and balcony were HORRIBLE. -No microwave or fridge in the room. - The hot water took about 15 minutes to “somewhat” come down to showered. - the tub had yellow stains with hairs on the wall. We had to put a small towel inside the tub because we didn’t want to step bare footed in there. -the towels were cheap, small and rough . - dust in all the furniture and walls. - the balcony seemed like it was going to fall down . Lastly , the smell. I mean the smell in that room was so bad that we had to get febreze and Lysol from cvs across the hotel. I was grossed out by EVERYTHING !! And couldn’t wait to get out of there. It only seems that they change bed sheets and towels. But ZERO cleaning for the rest of the room. And this is bad. Really bad when you have so many people coming in and out . Specially with COVID and other viruses going around. This place is not worth $130 a night but more like $40 and ONLY because is on the lake. But you are better off camping outside breathing fresh air then Inside that room smelling dirty carpet and inhaling dust

Nothing has been kept up with since this hotel was built. That’s the floors, walls, ceilings, bathrooms, lawn. Nothing. It smells funky. There’s mold on the Bathroom walls and ceiling. Hallway carpets have not been swept in months. Interior is at least 40 years old. Whoever owns this hotel should sell immediately. They obviously don’t care about maintaining their asset and property. If they sell right now, maybe this place can be saved. But I doubt it. I do not recommend staying at this hotel.

Had to change my room after climbing a flight of stairs with no a/c working in the halls. Soaking wet by the time I got to my room. Also didn’t help that when I got to my room a/c also was t working. Then had to wait almost an hour and a half to get my room changed. My new room had a balcony that is falling apart I was afraid to even sit out on the balcony. Looked up and all see is rotted wood and everything is overgrown couldn’t even see the lake. Bathrooms weren't working in the lobby. No restaurants as stated on their website. If you wanted a refrigerator and microwave it was $10 a day for each of them. Which I feel they should’ve waived the fee because they had no food service offered except for bagels, pasteurized, and coffee for a fee for breakfast. The lobby had a terrible odor of urine and mold. I think the health department should definitely look into this place. They wouldn’t take out paddle boats because they were told nothing can come out until the first day of summer. Everyone was complaining and most of the staff said they have complained to the owner and of to no avail. Nothing has been fixed obviously. Personally I feel this is a health hazard. The only way I would ever recommend this place is if they improved on customer service and of course fixing up the place to where things worked properly. The side machine wasn’t working the whole weekend. So disappointed

It's not beach sand it's fine gravel you find at a lake. Wearing water shoes is recommended for foot comfort. Sand castles is iffy.
Hotel has a strict policy. Guest and their guest only
