We had a blast! What a fun experience! Paige at the receptionist quickly answered my text messages and got everything settled, she is very sweet and organized. We booked "The Full River" trip with 3 kids at age of 9, 7, and 6. We were nervous at the beginning, afraiding the boat flipped over into the river, but our guide Nicolas was super experience, guided/helped us all the way till the end of trip. Big thanks to him, made our first unforgettable river rafting experience!

Our Family of 4 with two tweens, had a fantastic time rafting here. The whole shop is run very professionally and ALL of the staff are friendly and genuinely happy to see you from the moment they first see you to moment you drive away. Particularly, our guide Nico was an exceptional treat! Nico grew up rafting major rapids in his native country of Chile and brings a wealth of experience to these waters. He is a fantastic communicator and gets the boat working together like a well oiled machine, which is good because it allows you to take the most challenging lines if that's what you want. He is very concerned about everyone's safety and fully explains each and every rapid before you hit it so that everyone makes it out with smiles. Salud Nico!

Sierra Whitewater provided a great experience for both new and returning rafters in our group. They helped us reschedule with ease after we had to cancel just before our originally planned trip. Nico was our terrific rafting guide. He gave us clear instructions and constantly checked on the group to make sure we were all having the best possible experience while on the waters. It was great to chat with him during the trip, I recommend seeking him out as your guide.

Had a blast river rafting! Fun place and friendly staff who treats you like family. Always answered the phone when we called. The owner of the business even came out to greet, chit-chat, and joke with us, which truly shows how much he cares about his customers and his business. Joel, who was our raft guide, knew the river from the back of his head and can probably navigate the river with his eyes closed, seriously. Joel was very knowledgeable, fun, and safe throughout the river. Highly recommend this company and Joel as your guide. I would go back with again in the future. A+++

We have our own sleeping bags, but no tents, and we are not experienced at outdoor camping. We'd like to try camping but can we get help setting up the equipment so we can sleep outdoors by the river where we are rafting?

When you call to make a reservation, let us know what you have and what you need. We have tents, sleeping bags, cots, and more that we rent individually or include in package deals. Our sleeping bags are professionally washed and sanitized after every use and we can set up tents for you if you need or want assistance.

Can we raft one day on the Class III South Fork, camp overnight at your campground, and then raft the Class IV Middle Fork the next day?

Yes, we have discount packages and that combination is especially popular. You get warmed up and comfortable on the super-fun South Fork whitewater the first day, and then go all out in the thrilling, crazy and wild Middle Fork rapids on day two.

If we raft one full day, and then camp at Sierra's riverside campground that night, are there other fun, outdoorsy things to do in the area?

Jo Bernardo | Jan 18, 2022
Sierra Whitewater Inc. - River Rafting near Sacramento (Owner) | Jan 19, 2022

Absolutely. There are many great hiking trails with stunning views. There are spots to swim, fish, play disc golf, horseshoes or volleyball. There are lots of nice, affordable places to eat, have a cup of frozen yogurt, go wine tasting or you can even tour Marshall Gold Discovery Park and get a taste of local history.

Can I take my athletic and adventurous teenagers on a Class IV-V Middle Fork trip if they have no experience whitewater rafting?

Jo Bernardo | Jan 18, 2022
Sierra Whitewater Inc. - River Rafting near Sacramento (Owner) | Jan 19, 2022

Yes, although most people are more comfortable working their way to Class IV-V rapids, those who are strong swimmers, good listeners, and team-oriented can have a lot of fun on a first-time advanced trip. It's important to listen closely to your guide, work as a team, and be aware of your surroundings. If you do what the guide asks and perform under pressure, it should go fine.
